Blue Dragon 6 Treasures DLC

Posted in LiveMarketplace by DeaconBlade on the October 26th, 2007

This is a game that I need to get into more.  I played roughly 20 minutes of it and I was surprisingly into it.  My little brother has been all over it though so I’m sure he’ll enjoy the news about more DLC available in the Xbox Live Marketplace.  The latest content, and second of 6 in a series,  is called “6 Treasures” and costs 200 Microsoft Points.

Blue Dragon

Here’s a list of the goodies inside the package:

- “Whimsical Mind” - growth item that enhances a few randomly-picked categories by 0-4 levels
- “Way of Thieves” - in-battle item that can steal rare items possessed by enemy creatures
- “Devee Phonograph” - allows you to listen to the “Devee-tribe dance”
- “Nothing Glasses - visualizes all “nothing” points by means of a star-looking symbol (oftentimes you’ll find a lot of items that contain “nothing”, followed by an English-speaking narrator saying “nothing”)
- “Shuffled Helmet” - item that adjusts magical and speed parameters (Magic +40 / Speed -40).  Detrimental when used by itself because the speed parameter goes down by 50 points, but when equipped along with “Shuffled Breastplate” and “Shuffled Splint”, this item can quadruplicate the Magic parameters and reverse the Speed parameters.  So it becomes the strongest equipment in the game. (Magic +160 / Speed +40)
- “Spring-wind Scarf” - adjusts characters’ HP and Speed parameters by 20%

Design U360 Gamer Card

Posted in U360 Community by DeaconBlade on the October 25th, 2007

If you’re always busy toying around in Photoshop or your favorite graphics software, then you just might be able to go down as the most famous and celebrated U360 fan in the entire world!  Ok, maybe that’s a stretch and I’ll just consider you really cool for coming up with U360’s own MGC gamer card design.

MyGamerCard.net is going to offer an official U360 design choice for those of you who fancy using the gamer cards on your site, message boards or MySpace.  You can choose any dimensions in width/height as long as it’s the coolest damn gamer card ever!  I’d like a default one though (199 x 135).  But it’s really up to you.  I have a few skills so I’ll be designing a few of my own as well.

If you need anything from me including the U360 logo etc., just email me and let me know.  Send all designs to me at deacon@unscripted360.com.  Check out my flash gamer card below and click on one of my recently played games to see the cool effects.

Airburst headed to Xbox Live Arcade

Posted in Xbox Live Arcade by DeaconBlade on the October 25th, 2007

Are you ready for a bit of exclusive news?  This piece of info can only be found here and DaKing240.com.  Freeverse and Strange Flavour today announced that Airburst is well into development for Xbox Live Arcade. With quick pick-up-and-play action, this all-new Airburst is an ideal Live Arcade title and promises to be one of the best party games on the platform.

Floating high above the ground on a platform made of balloons, you have to fend-off the deadly chainsaw-bladed burster ball, and redirect it toward your opponents’ balloons. Airburst has crazy power-ups, unique character powers, and a wealth of game types to reward strategy as well as reflexes.

Airburst is being developed in the U.K. by Freeverse’s partner studio, Strange Flavour. Aaron Fothergill, Managing Director of Strange Flavour, has said, “The power of the Xbox 360 is allowing us to do some really amazing things in terms of graphics and features. We think gamers will be very pleased with what we have in-store.”

More details on the title will be released in the coming weeks.  Strange Flavour and Freeverse have had their hands on a few Xbox Live Arcade titles already including Totemball, Marathon: Durandal and Spyglass Board Games.  I hope you’re ready to experience the burst!  I included a screenshot of the popular Airburst Extreme to give you all an idea of what this game is all about.

Guitar Hero III Celebrity Party with Tony Romo

Posted in Activision, Guitar Hero by DeaconBlade on the October 24th, 2007

The time is almost near for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock to release its metal upon the world.  Before the world gets a taste, the metal descended upon Dallas for a star-studded event held at Dallas Cowboys cornerback, Terence Newman’s home.  The host of the event was the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Mr. Tony Romo.  I’m sure you can imagine the media frenzy with ESPN and other local news there.

I was able to attend the event courtesy of the crew at Microsoft’s Gamerscoreblog.  I was there to rock and I can assure you that Tony Romo, Terence Newman and the other guests were too.  It will go down officially as the best day ever!

During the event Tony Romo battled against Carmen Electra via Xbox Live.  Carmen was hosting her own Guitar Hero III event in Los Angeles and took some time to actually beat Tony during their Xbox Live battle.  To Tony’s credit, he did accidentally pull the wired Les Paul from the Xbox 360 during the battle which caused him much grief and put an abrupt end to the fierce competition.

I got a chance to battle one-on-one against Terence Newman and melted his brain with my wireless guitar skills.  It was the first time I’ve had a chance with the wireless Les Paul and it was just as responsive as the wired one.  Dusty Welch, Head of Publishing with RedOctane, was there to instruct everyone and answer any questions about the game.  I had some great conversations with him about the game, faceplates and other plans for the title after launch.  Other Dallas Cowboys attending the event and shredding guitar were Julius Jones (RB), Marc Columbo (OL) and Ken Hamlin (FS).

I took plenty of pictures that I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed being at the event.  I’m a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and a big fan of Guitar Hero III so I was all smiles.  Be prepared to unleash your inner rockstar on October 28th when Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock becomes available in stores.

Xbox 360 Arcade Console Available

Posted in Xbox360 by DeaconBlade on the October 23rd, 2007

This should come as no surprise for the interweb seekers out there but Microsoft unveiled the Xbox 360 Arcade console or as I like to call it, the Core Revision.  Available in stores now for $279.99, the Xbox 360 Arcade console is the first Xbox 360 console to include five family-friendly games, a wireless controller, a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI), and 256 MB of memory useful for storing games and entertainment content.

The Xbox 360 Arcade console will include 5 popular Xbox Live Arcade titles.  The 5 titles are PAC-MAN Championship Edition, Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket and Feeding Frenzy.

“As families gather together this holiday, it’s the perfect time to launch a new low-priced, high-value Xbox 360 that plays games, TV shows and music for everyone to enjoy,” said Jeff Bell, corporate vice president of global marketing, Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “In addition to offering an incredible all-in-one package for families to get right into the fun, the Xbox 360 Arcade system features the industry-leading Family Settings, which allow parents to control what their kids are watching and playing — and we know how important that control is to families around the world.”

This is another effort from Microsoft to bring more family entertainment to the console.  You can find out more about the Xbox 360 Arcade console here.  What say you?

Mass Effect Gold; Gets Collector’s Edition

Posted in Bioware by DeaconBlade on the October 23rd, 2007

BioWare fans and Mass Effect drones prepare to celebrate as the highly anticipated title has gone gold, and will be offered in a limited collector’s edition.  Additionally, an exclusive bonus disc will be offered to consumers who pre-order the game.  The bonus disc is available at participating U.S. retailers while supplies last.

Mass Effect

I’m going to try to get the CE and run it through the Edition Examiner ofcourse.  The limited collector’s edition will be offered through participating retailers, and will include a host of bonus materials.  You can check out all the CE features as well as the bonus disc features by clicking here.  They’re both loaded with good stuff.

The Collector’s Edition will retail for $69.99 and will be available next month along with the standard edition.  I’m guessing that Gamestop will be the prime location to get your exclusive pre-order goodies.
