SEMA 2007 VIDEO: The next wheel frontier

click above image to view a VIDEO of the LED Wheels in action

Most wheel fads have a shelf life shorter than a pop star's stay at Betty Ford. Spinners have become passé and the new biggie-sized wheels can't claim to be "dubs" anymore once they've eclipsed the 30-inch mark. Enter LED Wheels, a company that envisions a world with flashing graphics, customized designs and even adverts for Macy's Labor Day Sale rotating on your rims. The screen in the rim's center looks to be about seven to eight inches wide and remains upright while the wheel rotates around it. The possibilities are endless, but we know it's only a matter of time before someone pipes Jenna Jameson's latest flick out to an unsuspecting world.

Check out the video after the jump of the LED Wheels in action.

Oh god no. Good taste is so rare in modified vehicles these days... Everybody wants "dubs" and 8 subwoofers rattling their interior loose. No thanks.

What about the subtly-named Pimpstars?

They've been around for a while, and have the advantage (?) of looking like an ordinary bling wheel when they're switched off (or when the wheels aren't rotating).

I remember seeing something on TV about these, and they ran about $10,000 per.

So those "Pimpstars" would have the added benefit of costing four times LESS as well.

Oh, here we go with the racial accusations. STFU. Let me rephrase this for the retarded: "At least they (car part thieves) won't be stealing airbags anymore (because these will be the hot new item to steal)" Satisfied now?

Not to mention that the kinds of people who would want this on a car are the same people who like to steal things...

Why don't you and all the other smug armchair aryans with your stupid comments and your Ebonics STFU....It's obvious to everyone that these things are in the worst possible taste.....It seems like you assholes can't comment without turning it racial.

How long before these show up on EVERY vehcile in Pimp My Ride? I can see Mad Mike getting a chubby: yet ANOTHER place to put pointless LCD displays.

With technology, no accounting for taste. How long before someone gets these installed, and subsequently kicked in a day later?

And now that it's out there, I can relax knowing it's going to be illegal to use in most places.
