In June 2007, Guardian News & Media in association with Intel, produced Secondfest, a 3-day music and arts festival in Second Life.

The festival was a great success with just under 14,000 avatars enjoying the wide mix of entertainment – music, film, lectures, art and photography, games and competitions.

Secondfest is the biggest event ever to be held in Second Life, and research was conducted with visitors to assess their response to the festival, and how they feel about attending events in Second Life in general.
