In my opinion, if Game Informer gives it a good review, you know the game is going to be awesome.

i don't believe this game will be a halo killer...but i do believe its gonna be good..in its own world...that doesn't mean im getting a ps3 to play it tho...maybe in 3 years

This game looks lame, I saw the trailer and was not impressed.

Now it's the Wii's turn to shell out a game with a rating of 9+. Oh and that rating better be based on the game rather than the nostalgia factor, or else that's just fanboyism.

gears of war is the greatest game since halo and it blows them out of the water but this game looks pretty darn good with its 40 player online and the story but gears of war and resistence are different games but if i had to compare them i would say gears beats it by a long shot

yes its the wii's turn but there is a little game called legend of zelda that could pull off a score of 9+ as for ps3 it looks good but right now the 360 looks far better in my oppinion and thats mine but i dont think resistence will be sonys killer app maybe for launch but for the long run we will see if killzone or the cg of killzone lives up to sony's promise

What bugs me is the whole scenery of RFOM, Gears of War's scenery just looks much more enticing imo.

Also, if I want to play huge multiplayer games (even 24?+ people), I'll play a PC game like Battlefield 2 or 2142, which are both freaking awesome. And don't make this an EA thing...

true but gears of war changed onine gaming for me anyways i don't like run and gun games anymore and plus before i loved sony they were great but they over promised bad and then 360 came and i heard of gears of war and halo 3 and now bio shock mass effect too human and viva pinata it changed me

I have played both Gears and Resistance and I can say they are damn close. I love the game play in gears of war and it is sure to become a classic. Interested in the online play for Resistance it might be able to tip the scale

Stop comparing Resistance and GoW. They are both FPS yes, but GoW had much much much more time in development then Resistance. Not siding with either game, since I've played neither but production time has something to do with quality if you ask me.

i would get a ps3 but it only has one truly good game and that is metal gear solid 4 and rumor is since dead rising sold so good capcom is thinking of porting it to 360 so ps3 doesnt have nothing and it certainly doesnt have gears of war

The thing is, with the unreal engine 3, basically, all UE3 games are gonna look like Gears or better.

That game's graphics suck, gamplay wise it's nothing but a 3rd person hack and slash, so how is it really worth a 9+ rating? Game rating sites shouldn't rate controllers or nostalgia factor, they should rate games on the actual game and nothing else. Sure Zelda will get a good review, but that's just because of nostalgic fanboyism.

GOW gameplay + graphics + sound + mutiplayer > than Resistance. Restitance = lower score than Perfect Dark Zero at 1up. That's how bad the game sucks nuts.

Why are people comparing GoW to Resistance? First off, Resistance is a launch game and generally launch games are not as groundbreaking nor innovative as people would like to be. Second, GoW is not a FPS like Resistance is.

The only reason people compare them is because their launch dates are so close together. Both look fun though.

Get over the fact the Wii doesn't have "nextgen" graphics.It wasn't built to blow your god damn mind. Get over it. No more shallow comments with the graphics please. This machine was built for a new way to play games.

Next, why do you consider Zelda just another hack and slash? Its the same shit that makes RFOM just another FPS. Oh, its got this and that, sweet weapons, great environments and whatnot. Last but not least, this game is not going to get a good review because of "nostalgic fanboyism". For example, Robert Summa over at Destructoid posted and article talking about how he has never been into Zelda. At all...and this game has caused him multiple scatterblasts in the general pelvic region. In fact, I was never into Zelda until the Windwaker and apparently everyone hates that one. Damn son. If Zelda games only got good reviews because of the fanboyism, then Nintendo could churn out Zeldas yearly.

1. GOW is good, in fact it's the 360's best game. However, it's not going to have the impact either of the Halos did. Its multiplayer just won't have the legs to keep it interesting for as long. It plays great, but there's nothing, NOTHING more annoying than getting killed in the first few minutes of a match and watching some shitbird on your team hide the last 4 minutes to earn a draw instead of a loss. This one facet has turned 2 of my friends away from its multiplayer (I, on the other hand have more patience and am having a blast). Not to mention the only 3 game variants are all death-match-derivitaves.

Resistance is solid, there's absolutely no question about it. Is it a system seller? Probably not. Is GOW? Not so much either. The multiplayer of Resistance sounds like it could have real potential, but is it worth the 600+? If it breaks as much ground as either of the Halos, then it could be worth shelling out the cash for the PS3.

With regards to all the "Wii needs to produce.." stuff: we seem to be comparing shooters in this case. Red Steel seems like it will fall flat of producing 9+'s accross the board. But Zelda will most likely deliver. Nintendo has almost NEVER sold consoles because of shooters (except Goldeneye), so for the purposes of making it successful, Zelda will probably carry the Wii. Metroid Prime on the other hand.. well, we'll have to wait and see won't we?
