Watch company Baume and Mercier has a tradition of having celebrity ambassadors who appear in their print ads that are part of the "Baume & Mercier & Me" campaign. The 2008 ambassadors
will be Teri Hatcher and Ashton Kutcher. Past ambassadors have included Meg Ryan, Kiefer Sutherland, Kim Basinger and Gary Sinise. For the new campaigns all royalties that would go to the actors and their photographers are donated to charities chosen by the actors and the watch brand. Teri's campaign starts on January 1 with Ashton's campaign starting on April 1. Is it just me or does Ashton Kutcher seem like an odd choice to front this campaign. He's easy on the eyes, certainly, but seems to lack a certain gravitas necessary for a luxury watch campaign.

Are you kidding me? You think Teri Hatcher has any more 'gravitas'? She's so dimwitted in everything she does, and looks emaciated. Ashton is really coming into his own, and has garnered major respectability, and so much better looking.

Hmm, b-list actors for b-list watches.
Works for me.
Put another way, actors that rely purely on looks representing watches that rely purely on looks. But to be fair, Ashton is great at acting like a moron. The question is if he is acting.
