Movies
TOO MANY. I love comedies, horror movies and documentaries most of all. However, I'll seriously watch anything. Great cinema may transform and redeem, but bad cinema provides endless snarkage & bonding ops.
The best film I've seen this year is There Will Be Blood. I still like bowling. I also think Jason Reitman is a decent director, but he parties about as well as my mom.
Television
Fuck McSpaced!
Books
The Great Gatsby, Lolita, Laurel Canyon, Strip City, comics, anything about the '60s and '70s rock scenes, film and TV criticism, old Hollywood stuff, biographies and memoirs, oral histories, art books, you name it. I don't read a buttload of fiction these days, and I should probably remedy that. I have a book about Luis Bunuel on my coffee table that I've never read. I like saying "Luis Bunuel."
Hey Diablo...Just wanted to say thanks for everything. It was great meeting you and I had a much needed great time. If you wanna jam, just say the word. All we need is to find a manic drummer. Do note my vintage Big Muff - top row center. What can I say, I'm a pedalphile.
I loved the article you wrote in Entertainment Weekly about the New Kids on the Block reuniting a while back. I laughed so much....because that easily could have been me. I was such New Kid nerd.
Hey Diablo! Found some info you'd probably enjoy, being a massive fan of SPACED and all. Kevin Smith's "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" comic shop in LA is having a signing with the cast of SPACED!

Figured you'd want to get your copy signed by the cast and crew.
Just wanted to give a big thumbs up on your Mondo line-up (so far), especially Fright Night...Love, love, love (!) that movie...Roddy McDowall is amazing in it, too...
Answer this question: "If you could wish on a real shooting star, what would you wish for and why?"
And we'll include it in a "book" we hope to put together using a self-publishing site so we can donate money to St. Jude . Please help. Please get anyone else to answer. Just need answer, name, and a credit! :)
Oh My God, Phuket Thialand.. Diablo At The New Beverly. Um, its July, already? Holy Shit. I was in the City of Sin. I would have totally rather seen you and Juno for the Billionth time. Shit, July I'm almost 30. I'm freaking out. I was carded at the MGM.. Laughed the piss right out of me.
Why is ABC being praised for "dealing with a tough subject" with 'The Secret Life Of The American Teenager' and you are being blamed for getting 17 girls pregnant with Juno? Idiots.
guess what song is the MOST popular on the mystical box? heres a clue: Up up down down left right left right B A start Just because we use cheats doesn't mean we're not smart... they are still loving it big time! xoxo
I wish I could have seen the screening last night...but I live in NORTHERN california...you should come visit us up HERE!!! but anywayz, I'll just make up for it by watching Juno later today...and re-reading the shooting script...no, maybe I'll watch and read at the same time- yea, I'll do that ^_^
My film, The Missing Peace, is an adaptation of a short story of the same name, that I got the rights to from a book of short stories called Krik? Krack!
Krick? Krack! is currently in Entertainment Weekly's list of books considered classics in the past 25 years!!! The author, Edwidge Danticat, was also featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show book club.
Check out my film, The Missing Peace on my profile!!!
hey DC! hope you had a great weekend. Im trying to recover after all the shots. my pen name is velvetj. The name of the script is "The Psych Ward" and it should still be with the latest blogs. Hope all is well ill hola at you later.
I thought that I should make you aware that you were the sole focus of this project that I had to do for my advanced English project, and I had to dress up as you for the presentation portion. Being a male, it was awkward to have the fake boobs, but I had your tattoo and everything. It was complete bliss. Here's a picture just to heighten your awareness:
Wow, so I'm incredibly late on this, but happy birthday. I meant to do this ages ago, but I guess I forgot. Well, better late than never, right? Hopefully turning 30 hasn't gotten you into too bad of a depression. ;)
I love your writing. Anything from the blogs to the Entertainment Weekly back page thingie. I've always been told by teachers, professors, peers etc. that I am a great writer but when I read something you wrote it not only inspires me but kills my motivation because I feel like I couldn't write anything that would measure up to your work. Blah.
