The former Ipswich and Newcastle manager was accompanied by Town Chairman David Sheepshanks for an event that clearly meant a lot to him.

Sir Bobby took charge at Town in 1969 and guided the Blues to FA Cup and UEFA Cup glory before moving on to become England national team boss in 1982.
Sean Hedges-Quinn was the sculptor for the project, just as he was for the Sir Alf Ramsey statue that now stands on the corner of Sir Alf Ramsey Way and Portman Road.

Sir Bobby's statue now stands in Portman Road, opposite the Centre Spot.
