Hey there, glad you’ve stopped by. My name is Erin Harvey, blogging at you from the great northern expanse of Canada. Following a brief stint as a haggis-munching Glaswegian, I’ve recently repatriated myself and settled in to a comfortable little life in Southern Ontario. I have a Honours B.Sc. in Biology, with a minor in Anthropology, and just wrapped up an intensive M.Sc. in Forensic Science specializing in Chemistry. As you can see I am using absolutely nothing from my past educational endeavours in my blogging for b5media, in a somewhat deliberate attempt to get in touch with my non-sciency side. I dabble in a little bit of everything, though much to my parent’s chagrin I seem completely incapable of settling into one field or occupation. Blogging has proven to be new territory for me; a bold step into a brave new world of sorts. Thus far my experience with blogging, and with b5media, has exceeded my expectations in giving me a forum to express my opinions. They offer a wealth of experience and an opportunity to write, with as little worry about fuss and muss as possible for their editors.
As I said, I’m a newcomer to the blogging scene, but find myself being drawn in ever deeper into the posting mayhem. It’s all new, it’s all exciting, and darned if I ain’t having a whale of a time with it. In addition to a few personal blogs that are in production, I’m currently involved with b5media’s Film Gecko where I’m having a grand old time keeping up with the film industry and offering news and views from our different perspectives.
I also take great pride in working with Ingrid Diaz on the “dirtiest” little blog in the b5media network: Play-Girlz.com. Despite its questionable sounding name (note that the dash is extremely important), Play-Girlz.com seeks to provide information and speculation for gamers of all makes and models. The whole thing is very much an excuse to get to play video games more, but we try to make it seem as though that’s merely a minor perk.
Recently Ingrid, Jayvee Fernandez and I have headed up yet another blog: Kapped.com, an irreverently amusing blog full of screen shots from movies, television and video games that we’ve twisted into funny new forms.
