    Beer here, but not much else

    All right, I'm just going to come out and say it: I'm not crazy about beer. I'll drink it, but it is not my first choice. Which is why I wish, when relaxing at SeaWorld (or Busch Gardens for that matter), there were more adult-beverage choices.

    Yes, gentle readers, before you point out the obvious to me, I realize Busch is a beer company. And that selling beer will always be its top priority. And that most American adults are quite happy with beer.

    But would it kill them to offer an alternative?

    Whale of announcement from Busch Entertainment: Let's do Dubai

    When Busch Entertainment Corp. said it would have a "momentous" announcement, I thought, "Wow, that's setting the bar high."

    Now that we know the truth -- that it's building a Worlds of Discovery in Dubai -- it's hard for me to argue the momentous label. The four parks -- SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove and Aquatica -- will be the first overseas entertainment properties for the company. It's a partnership with Nakheel PJSC, one of the world's largest property developers. The parks will be built on The Palm Jebel Ali. They expect visitors by 2012. Preliminary design work and site planning is underway.

    Most fun so far: The layout of the parks, which from overhead will resemble a killer whale.

    That's SeaWorld on the left, Busch Gardens on the right, Aquatica in the center and Discovery Cove as the fin. That red area is a shopping/entertainment complex, and the grayish area across the bottom represents hotels that will overlook the parks.
