The Chicago Tribune is one of the Sentinel's "sister papers" in that we have the same owner, the Tribune Co. Recently, the Trib's Travel section took a look at what was suitable for adults at Orlando's Universal theme parks. Writer Alan Solomon had less than kind things to say about Poseidon's Fury, the walk-through show at Islands of Adventure featuring live actors, movie footage and water.
"There is a story line to this attraction," Solomon writes, "but mainly it's bursts of fire, bursts of water and a hysterical (crazy hysterical, not ha-ha hysterical) live-action lead character. It's ungodly awful."
Ouch.
It's not my favorite attraction, and though I preferred the original story line as opposed to the current tale, Solomon is a being a bit harsh. You wouldn't want to wait a half hour for it, but it's not "ungodly awful."
See what attraction Solomon dissed at Universal Studios after the jump.
