Rancho Bernardo hires basketball coach

Varsity assistant Jim Choe has been named head boys basketball coach at Rancho Bernardo High.

Choe, 34, replaces Kevin Keller, who stepped down after seven seasons to focus on his classroom teaching and spend more time with his family.

Choe, an on-campus math teacher, has been with RB's basketball program for six years. For the first three years he was a JV coach before becoming Keller's assistant – with a focus on offense – the last three seasons.
