Job Description: Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:
Kaplan Virtual Education, a leader in middle and high school online education, and a part of Kaplan Inc and the Washington Post seeks a passionate and proven Director of Interactive Marketing. The Director of Interactive Marketing will be responsible for the development and execution of a transformative and exhaustive web presence, comprehensive viral/social networking strategy, and ongoing online advertising campaigns for Kaplan Virtual Educations fast growing Public and Private school programs.
Prominent areas of work will include strategic planning, project management, execution and continued optimization of our digital assets and campaigns. Additionally, the Director of Interactive Marketing will lead the organization in successfully developing and executing KVEs viral/social networking marketing strategy and online advertising campaigns such as banner ads and pay-per-click. Job responsibilities and areas of management can be categorized in three areas: web strategy, project management, and interactive marketing.
Typical activities include:
1.Manage external agency(ies) in developing and enhancing web and online strategy
Lead strategic thinking and marketing approach
Attend regular strategy/progress meetings
Drive agency to deliver on schedule and within budget
Provide insights to deliver transformative web experience
2.Work with internal stakeholders
Define a holistic marketing strategy for KVEs public and private school businesses together with General Managers and other functional marketing leaders.
Determine business priorities and funding requirements. Consistently meet ROI and budget objectives.
Communicate progress through regular presentations
3.Research and launch ppc, banner, social networking, viral, and Web 2.0 efforts
Stay on top of emerging market trends
Plan, pilot, and launch new techniques as appropriate
Develop in-house skills and tools as required
4.Support online marketing efforts
Handle day-to-day responsibilities of online advertising

Experience Required:
At least 5-8 years work experience leading successful B2C interactive marketing strategy and implementation
Experience working with web and interactive marketing agencies
Strong B2C marketing experience (education, teen/parent focused services industry preferred)
Bachelors degree required, MBA strongly preferred
