Is Cadillac ready to have Lincoln as a serious competitor once again? I bet not. While Cadillac allowed for their “Ultra” Northstar program (a much needed update to the dual overhead cam 32 valve v8 engine) to fall through the cracks, Lincoln has been working on their 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 for the 2010 model year. Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the twin-turbo engine is rated at 355 bhp and 350 lb-ft torque, all while providing 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. This is exactly where Cadillac needs to be for their non-V-Series vehicles. 320 horsepower and 315 foot pounds of torque is old news for heavy luxury cars.
