A rumor spread a few days ago that THQ finally folded after months of struggling to keep above water. The rumor was wrong, but from the looks of it, it probably won't be long before it becomes true. Their latest financial numbers show a US$ 192 million loss, and the Saints Row publisher is now planning to reduce their headcount by 600.

Ó
Former PSP-turned-Wiibrew dev Red Squirrel has release a quick update for his mod of tona's AnyTitle Deleter app. In case you missed previous articles on this app, AnyTitle Deleter lets
you delete almost any title from your Wii, including previously
un-deletable ones such as IOS, MIOS, and some system channels. This mod makes the program show actual filenames instead of just ID numbers

Tenchu 4
Ó
If you've been wondering how this Tenchu title fared in its trip to the PSP lineup, here's another trailer for Tenchu 4: Shadow Assassins (Wii, PSP). Previous Tenchu titles have been a little lackluster if you ask me, but this one seems to have some zing to it, though graphics aren't very impressive. Hopefully, the game is as good as the trailer shows. Check it out.

Here's one for budding Wiibrew developers from PunMaster. FiSSION is, to quote its description "a homebrew 3D game engine being developed for the Nintendo Wii." The hope is to provide fellow homebrew devs the means to make "studio-quality" games. Details and a sample vid after the link.

Ó
At this rate, if all these bills being proposed get written into actual law, video game box art would be obsolete. In their place, it's just one big white label on the cover: warning warning danger warning! Following last week's proposal of having a huge list of warnings on game boxes (sodomy, rape, bestiality, incest, murder, etc.), a new bill now wants a warning label linking photosensitivity epilepsy and video games.

I'm sure more than a handful of you remember Balloon Fight
back in the NES era. Here's something that took inspiration from the
classic Nintendo game and brought it to the 3D platforming arena - Helium Boy, complete with pesky crows and flying ninjas (what more can you ask for?)! It's a professionally done game too, with a nomination from a games award committee under its belt!

Can they just stop already? Le sigh. Another day, another video game
bill proposed. Well, this bill is not exactly new already. This bill
confirmed to be sponsored by a Republican state legislator is none
other than the one originally crafted by the crafty Jack Thompson. You know, the "Games as Porn" bill. Am sure you're intrigued. Go on, head to the full article for the details.

There's a new ColecoVision emulator out for the Nintendo Wii console
from developer Consolius. This emulator is simply called Colem for the
Wii. This is the initial release, so no changelog for now. Instead, there's a list of features and known bugs in the full article along with details on the control scheme.

Ó
And modder DHRECK continues to come up with entertaining mod for the
Wii's entertaining Wiimote. Yes, he's no other than the Hemp-Mote guy
(though am sure he'd want to be recognized for much more than that :P), and this time he's back with a more minimalist creation, the
Mini-Mote.
Thanks for the heads up, DHREK! |

Ó
As it turns out, neither Codemasters, Monumental, or those interested
companies outside the video game industry were able to buy Free Radical
Design. Instead, Germany-based Crytek was the one who ponied up the
cash to get their hands on the Haze and TimeSplitters developer.
