DECREASE IN DENGUE CASES
 
Dengue fever cases in the country has dropped dramatically according to Rarotonga hospital officials.

Clinical services director Dr Henry Tikaka reported that there were still some cases but the number fell to just 54 in April.

Since last May, a total of 1,394 cases of dengue was reported with 1.296 in Rarotonga and 98 in the Outer Islands.

In Rarotonga, 139 people were admitted to hospital.

Tikaka also reported that 19 tourists were recorded by the Ministry of Health.

Public Health continues its awareness programme against the mosquito borne disease.
