GOVT DELEGATION TO MANGAIA TO ASSESS DEVELOPMENTS

The Minister for Outer Islands Affairs Kete Ioane is leading a delegation in Mangaia to look at current developments on the island and assess government projects needing critical evaluation and redress.

According to Ioane the move is to be able to assist in the development of the island economy.

Currently Mangaia is at the crossroad of developing a robust tourism market with private enterprise being very active.

The delegation's two day ( 5-7 September) visit is in conjunction to an invitation by businessman Winton Pickering to visit Mangaia to look at a wider scope of potential developments on the island to sustain its future economy.
