Employers and employees are encouraged to consider the new draft Employment Relations Bill before the final draft is expected to be complete in December.
According to Internal Affairs Minister Ngamau Munokoa the bill will affect everyone who runs a business, works for pay, or even enters the workplace.
The new bill will promote workplace agreements which build a modern economy, encourage productivity and support economic growth and job creation.
"It will also replace or update the existing labour laws which date back to 1964" according to the Minister.
She said the Labour Legislation Committee will seek Chamber of Commerce opinions and hold public meetings in Rarotonga and Aitutaki later this month.
Other Outer Islands will be sent copies of the draft to comment on.
