The Cook Islands will host the 38th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) conference at the Edgewater Resort next week.
The one week event, 7-14 July will bring together over 40 presiding officers and clerks from around the region including Australia. Some are expected to bring their wives and children.
Clerk of Parliament, Nga Valoa said there will be presentations on parliamentary committees, voting, elections, parliamentary privilege, ethics and conflicts of interest.
New Zealand MP and Speaker of the House, Margaret Wilson will speak on code of ethics.
Prime Minister, Jim Marurai will give the keynote address and Speaker Mapu Taia will welcome the delegates.
The actual opening of the conference on Tuesday 11 July will be held at the Aroa Nui Hall in Puaikura |
