The entries for the WPS 12-Hour Showroom Enduro to be held at Mount Panorama on April 8 continue to flow in with Sherrin Motorsport and former Production Car identity, Chris Sexton, the latest to confirm their entries for the race.

Sherrin Motorsport will enter three BMW’s, a pair of 130’s and one 120, to be driven by various Sherrin Motorsport customers in the feature event which will be run in conjunction with the WPS Bathurst International Motor Festival at Easter.

The Queensland based outfit will prepare the cars. The cars used in the WPS 12-Hour Showroom Enduro will be operated separately from those scheduled to be used in the recently announced Sherrin Motorsport Cup throughout Queensland.

“The opportunity to drive the mountain for an extended period of time is one which couldn’t be knocked back for many of our customers, hence we have put a program together to allow them to get the experience at Bathurst, ” said Sherrin Motorsport’s Alistair Bye.

“The 12-Hour race will provide our customers to enjoy their motorsport while also allowing them with an opportunity to gain valuable laps around Mount Panorama. This will ensure they are better prepared when they take to the circuit in other categories later in the year. ”

One of the stalwarts of Australian Production Car Racing, Chris Sexton, will also be entering two brand-new Ford BFII Falcon XR6 Turbos in the 12-Hour Race. Both cars will be prepared by Les Small with the suspension work being completed by Murray Cootes of Proflex.

The second of Sexton’s cars only came out of the Ford factory a couple of days ago but he is confident both cars will be ready to take to the circuit for testing next month.

A total of six drivers form the line up of Sexton’s campaign with the driving duties in the #33 Falcon to be shared between Dennis Cribben, Roland Hill and Paul Jenkins, who is a US Navy Fighter pilot. The #99 drivers will include Alan Letcher, David Turner and Nathan Callahan.

Holden Motorsport has also confirmed the pair of Holden Astra’s to contest the WPS 12-Hour Showroom Enduro will be built and prepared by Paul Morris Motorsport. Other manufacturers are finalising their plans with several others expected to confirm their support for the race over the coming weeks.

Event Director James O’Brien is pleased to see the entries continuing to flow in for the feature event.

“The WPS 12-Hour Race is a perfect opportunity for people to gain valuable miles around Mount Panorama and we are looking forward to receiving numerous other entries during the next few weeks, ” said O’Brien.

“Sherrin Motorsport is certainly forging its way towards becoming a significant force in Australian Motorsport and I look forward to having the team at the WPS Bathurst International Motor Festival. Chris Sexton has a proven track record and both of his entries will be exciting to watch.

“I’m looking forward to confirming some further high profile teams and drivers for the WPS 12-Hour Race in the near future. ”

The 2007 WPS Bathurst International Motor Festival will be held at Mount Panorama on April 6-8, incorporating the WPS 12-Hour Showroom Enduro on Sunday April 8.
