Auckland City has a vision for Auckland's future.

Auckland will be a quality urban city, prospering as a vibrant leading edge city with heart and soul.
The city will be the hub of the region's economic and cultural life, and the powerhouse of the nation's economy.

An important part of achieving this will be effective planning with the community.

The Growth Management Strategy was adopted by Auckland City Council in December 2003.
