Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, archaeological area in southern Idaho, U.S. It is located on the west bank of the Snake River, just west of Hagerman and about 100 miles (160 km) southeast of Boise. The monument, with an area of 7 square miles (18 square km), was established in 1988.
The monument lies on the Snake River Plain at a point where bluffs 600 feet (180 metres) high have been carved along the Snake, exposing numerous layers of sedimentary rock.
