A-   Suggesting the annual research plan of the Islamic university  and the preparation  of the required budget to be presented   to the academic board.
B-  Suggesting the rules and regulations for the scientific research.
C- To approve research projects and follow their execution in  accordance with regulations.     
D- To suggest the means that can regulate the link with other research centers out the  university and how to collaburate with them.       
E- To coordinate the progress of work among the research  centers and encourage  research in different sections and departments.
F-  To recommend the publishing of some researches in  accordance to the principles of publication in the Islamic  university.                    
G- To encourage researchers and staff members to perform  creative researches and offer them the required facilities.
H-  To regulate communication with other research centers both inside and outside the Islamic university and to promote  cooperation with foreign centers to benefit from what is   new in the fieldofacademic research.                                                                                                                                                                      I-  To form data base for the current researches and exchange information with other universities and research centers.            
J -  To guide and follow up the funded researches.
K-  To form the specialized committees when required.   
L- To study what is recommended by the university president or the deputy of post graduate studies and scientific research.
