Life Unexpected
Imagine if Rory from Gilmore Girls were given up for adoption at birth and bounced around the foster care system for 15 years. And when she finally tracks down her biological mom and dad in order to become legally emancipated, she finds each of them to have the emotional maturity of a turnip. That's Life's Lux (Britt Robertson). Even if you're not fond of CW shows like Gossip Girl and 90210, you should check this out. It's an entirely different creation one with the heart of old WB shows like Gilmore and Everwood. The writing is sharp, and the cast is full of faces you'll be happy to see back on TV Shiri Appleby (Roswell) plays Lux's radio-DJ mom, Cate, while Kerr Smith (Dawson's Creek) is Cate's fiancé. The real revelation, though, is Robertson (late of CBS' Swingtown), a magnetic actress who plays Lux as brainy, self-assured, and someone you'll love spending 60 minutes with. Henry Goldblatt
One Tree Hill
Paying a visit to One Tree Hill is somewhat akin to taking a trip to Crazytown, in the sense that logic is useless and Daphne Zuniga is the best actress. This week's episode is a typically loopy outing with not one but four (!) performances by budding music star Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti), including a karaoke-level cover of Pat Benatar's ''We Belong.'' But thanks to a ridiculous last-minute twist involving the return of Haley's bad-girl sis, the episode is almost worth sitting through for the entire hour. I said almost. C Tim Stack
Chuck
Awesome must learn the ins and outs of spy life from Chuck after he is mistaken for a super spy by guest star Angie Harmon's villainous character, Sydney Price. The two guys must continue the search for The Ring minus hairy hobbit feet.
Series DebutBig Time Rush
Minnesota friends form a band and get discovered. Yes! Songs about hockey!
Two and a Half Men
Charlie has a colonoscopy. Did Brooke Mueller try out for the role as his doctor?
Fashion Police: The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards
Joan Rivers is back. On behalf of all of us: Thanks, Costa Rican airport workers.
Be Good Johnny Weir
This series about the Olympic figure skater kicks off with a documentary about his rise (three national wins) and fall (well, falls at recent competitions). Weir is flamboyant and provocative, and he describes his costumes as ''sparkly onesies.'' Pretty fabulous. B+
