By Michael David SmithPosted: 02/11/2010 10:34 AM ET
It seems fairly ridiculous to think that James Toney, the 41-year-old who was (many years ago) among the best boxers in the world, would seriously sign a UFC contract. It's hard to see why the UFC would want a washed-up ex-boxer, and it's hard to see why Toney would want a paycheck that would surely be significantly less than he got used to in the ring.
And yet Toney has taken every opportunity to say he wants to do it, and UFC President Dana White has said publicly that he's open to the idea.

In the interview below with MMA Fighting, Beltran shares his thoughts on Gracie's performance and talks stepping in on a week's notice to win by TKO last Saturday at UFC 109 in Las Vegas.

With a collegiate wrestling championship in his background, an unbeaten professional record and a nickname of "Mr. Wonderful," it's no wonder that Phil Davis entered the UFC surrounded by great expectations.
Suffice it to say, in his first octagon test at UFC 109, the former Penn State All-American passed with flying colors, dominating former WEC light-heayvweight champion Brian Stann in a unanimous decision victory.
In this interview with MMA FIghting, Davis talks about getting the call to fight in the UFC at this early stage of his career, his first time under the bright lights, living up to the hype and more.
Rampage Jackson to Make UFC Return at UFC 110 ... Sort of
By Mike ChiappettaPosted: 02/10/2010 05:07 PM ET
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson hasn't been seen in the vicinty of a UFC octagon in over six months. His last UFC bout was nearly a year ago, and since his feud with UFC president Dana White went public last fall, he's been seen mostly in stills from his upcoming "A-Team" movie, on TMZ and other Hollywood shows.
But the former UFC light-heavyweight champion will at least temporarily be back in the UFC fold when the organization makes its maiden voyage to Australia for UFC 110 on Feb. 20.

Velasquez: Nogueira 'Just Another Guy I Need to Fight'
By Michael David SmithPosted: 02/10/2010 01:59 PM ET
The youth of Cain Velasquez against the experience of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is the main theme the UFC is using to promote the main event at UFC 110, and in this promotional video, Velasquez makes an interesting comment about where Nogueira fits in among the opponents he's faced in his relatively brief MMA career.
"He's just another guy up on the ladder that I need to fight to get where I want to be," Velasquez said of Nogueira.
