James Toney Continues to Campaign for UFC Contract

It seems fairly ridiculous to think that James Toney, the 41-year-old who was (many years ago) among the best boxers in the world, would seriously sign a UFC contract. It's hard to see why the UFC would want a washed-up ex-boxer, and it's hard to see why Toney would want a paycheck that would surely be significantly less than he got used to in the ring.

And yet Toney has taken every opportunity to say he wants to do it, and UFC President Dana White has said publicly that he's open to the idea.

Joey Beltran: I Feel A Little Bad for Rolles Gracie

UFC 110 Training Camp Video Journal: Cain Velasquez

Cain Velasquez is considered by most to be one of the 10 best heavyweights in MMA, and while the undefeated Velasquez continues to improve every time he steps inside the Octagon, he has never faced anyone quite like Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The 27-year-old Velasquez will headline UFC 110 against "Big Nog," and a win against the former PRIDE and interim UFC heavyweight champion will surely put him one step closer to fighting for a title.

MMA Fighting's E. Casey Leydon spent some time with Velasquez and his training partners at the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, Calif., and found out what the former Arizona State University wrestling star is doing to prepare for the toughest fight of his young career. Rampage Jackson to Make UFC Return at UFC 110 ... Sort of

Quinton JacksonQuinton "Rampage" Jackson hasn't been seen in the vicinty of a UFC octagon in over six months. His last UFC bout was nearly a year ago, and since his feud with UFC president Dana White went public last fall, he's been seen mostly in stills from his upcoming "A-Team" movie, on TMZ and other Hollywood shows.

But the former UFC light-heavyweight champion will at least temporarily be back in the UFC fold when the organization makes its maiden voyage to Australia for UFC 110 on Feb. 20.

Andrei Arlovski to Fight in Boxing Exhibition Bout

Mark Coleman Not Retiring, 'Not Sure' if He's Done in UFC

Four days after he lost to Randy Couture at UFC 109, Mark Coleman told MMAFighting.com on Wednesday that he's not sure whether the UFC has decided to cut him from its roster. But Coleman knows he wants another shot inside the Octagon, and he said he has definitely not retired.

"I'm not sure," Coleman said when asked if the UFC has released him. "I really don't want to comment on that right now until I know the situation."

Velasquez: Nogueira 'Just Another Guy I Need to Fight'

The youth of Cain Velasquez against the experience of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is the main theme the UFC is using to promote the main event at UFC 110, and in this promotional video, Velasquez makes an interesting comment about where Nogueira fits in among the opponents he's faced in his relatively brief MMA career.

"He's just another guy up on the ladder that I need to fight to get where I want to be," Velasquez said of Nogueira.
