Jimmy Fallon Gets 'Lost' in 'Late'

'Late Night' host Jimmy Fallon really has come a long way in a short while. His comedy has been very focused, imaginative and (above all else) funny enough to stand on its own two feet. That makes it an even more perfect time for Fallon and company to spoof the dramatic mindf*#&ery of shows like 'Lost'.

Take a look at the show's first in a long series of 'Lost' spoofs appropriately titled 'Late'.

"New" Opening for 'Lost' Shows What Fans Are Thinking

Finally, the people behind 'Lost' have decided to change the opening titles for the show. No, there isn't a theme song now and they're not putting the names of the cast in the opening, but they have changed something major to give a more accurate description of the show in general (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

Here's Something to Give Your 'Lost'-Loving Significant "Other" on Valentine's Day

Lost cardWhat do you get the 'Lost' fan for Valentine's Day? DHARMA chocolates? A copy of 'The Third Policeman?' Advil to take at 10PM every Tuesday night when the latest episode is over?

How about a 'Lost'-themed card? These are pretty darn clever. The Ben one on the right is my favorite. I love the expression on his face, and you can imagine him saying those words.

The card after the jump is my other favorite, though since it's addressed to Kate it seems like only a handful of 'Lost' fans would be able to use it.

'Hawaii Five-0' Has Booked O'Loughlin

alex_oloughlin_the_shieldThere's something very satisfying when speculation and inside word turns out to be right on the money. That's the case with the casting for CBS's 'Hawaii Five-0.' Hollywood Reporter confirms that the man who will lead the detectives for this new CBS version 'Hawaii Five-0' is going to be Alex O'Loughlin.

Do you hear that sound? That's millions of 'Moonlight' fans exploding with joy that their favorite star has gotten the Steve McGarrett role. They're giddy with excitement because Alex is a star who as been searching for just the right role, just the right project, just the right hit that would keep him on the air. 'Hawaii Five-0' has a really good chance to succeed. Make that extremely good.

Cuse and Lindelof Give Some Clues About the 'Lost' Timeline(s)

LostIf you're not listening to the weekly 'Lost' podcast, you're missing out on a lot of great stuff. I didn't start listening to it until recently, and I've discovered that not only are the podcasts entertaining, they're giving a lot of clues as to what's happening on the island (and these are official clues, not rumors or theories that you might find on other sites - though producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are more than a little coy in the podcasts).

What jumped out to me in the podcast posted after the season premiere last week has to do with the timeline(s).

'Lost' - 'What Kate Does' Recap

Evangeline Lilly as Kate Austen on ABC's 'Lost.'
(S06E03) "It's the Others, dude. They caught us ... again." - Hurley

As 'What Kate Does' unfolded, I couldn't help but shake the feeling that everything we're witnessing in the "post-Jughead worked" 2004 time-line is going to end up being very important. Of course, that could have been due to the fact that in this past week's Official 'Lost' Audio Podcast, Cuse and Lindelof essentially laid it bare for us -- there is no alternate reality happening here. What's going on in LA in 2004 and what's going on in 2007 on the island are both very real.

The question to ask is what effect actions in one time-line will have on the events in the other. As far as 'Lost' mindf#%ks go, this one is a doozie, because it's forced us to reevaluate everything we remember about these characters, right back to the pilot episode.

Which 'Lost' Cast Member Might Be Getting Killed Off?

Lost
The second episode of 'Lost's' final season airs tonight, but they're actually done filming over a dozen episodes this season, so they only have a few more to film before the cast says goodbye to the show forever. One cast member says that his survival at the end of the show is "unlikely." Spoilerish info after the jump.

Jorge Garcia's New 'Lost' Podcast Just Melted My Brain

Geronimo Jack's BeardJorge Garcia, the dude who plays Hurley on 'Lost', has launched a new weekly podcast about the show's final season, lovingly titled "Geronimo Jack's Beard."

You can download the first episode now, which features Jorge and co-host Beth Shady discussing the script for last week's premiere 'LA X Parts 1 & 2'. It's a fun listen, but don't expect to hear any plot spoilers from Jorge, who clearly states that he's "not the answer guy."

While listening to "GJB," I honestly wasn't expecting to get any definitive answers to the four million questions I have about the premiere. (I doubt Jorge could get away with sneaking spoilers into the recording.) Still, I was hoping to get a few clues about the strange new "flash sideways" storyline.

But the podcast left me even more confused about the premiere than I was before.

'Lost's' Daniel Dae Kim tapped for 'Hawaii 5-0' remake

daniel_dae_kim_lost_abcCBS's new incarnation of 'Hawaii Five-0' to a huge step towards becoming a reality with one casting move. Daniel Dae Kim will be playing one of the 'Hawaii Five-0' team. The 'Lost' veteran, who is available for work because the ABC drama ends on May 23, will be a cop on 'Five-0.'

No, they're not making Steve McGarrett, the lead detective. Kim has been cast as Detective Chin Ho Kelly, the second or third guy, depending on the episode. In the original series, Kam Fong played the role, and James MacArthur as Dano was perceived more of the second guy on the team. But in today's more diverse era, Kim may have a more prominent role than Fong did.

'Lost' Star Cynthia Watros Snags A 'House' Role

cynthia watrosCynthia Watros, the dearly departed Libby on 'Lost,' is leaving Hurley for Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard). Watros will be appearing in a recurring role on 'House,' playing one of Wilson's many ex-wives. In fact, not only is she playing Wilson's very first ex-wife, but it looks like they'll be rekindling their relationship.

Watros is set to appear on several episodes, so it appears as though House (Hugh Laurie) doesn't chase her off right away. Of course, she probably became intimately acquainted with House during her marriage to Wilson, so his antics can't be anything that new to her. Regardless, it takes a brave woman to step back into that minefield -- especially now that House and Wilson are roommates. He kind of makes the Smoke Monster look like a gentle breeze.

We haven't seen Wilson in a real relationship since Cutthroat Bitch (Anne Dudek) died, and since I don't think House said "yes" to Wilson's recent proposal, it seems like a good time to have him fall in love again. What do you think? Do you want to see Wilson with his ex, or should he really just focus on his true soul-mate, House?

Newsweek Staff Members Who've Never Seen 'Lost' Watch and Comment

The other night while watching the season premiere of 'Lost,' I was thinking about people who have never seen the show. What if they watched this episode? Would they have any idea of what's going on? Would they like it? Would their heads explode?

This video below answers the question a bit. Several Newsweek staff members got together to watch scenes from important moments on the show and tried to figure out what it all means. Some of the comments range from goofy ("Why would that guy make the engine blow up?") to the typical line you hear from a non-fan ("It's heaven!").

The Big Question About Last Night's Season Premiere of 'Lost'

Matthew FoxThere are no chicken sandwiches in the parking lot. There are only dreamers. Sure, one could make the case that you can't make linoleum a religious symbol, and even if you could, why would oranges go to Buffalo? I sit here with my shoes and my can opener and I wonder about President Taft. There are rules for gasoline, and maybe - just maybe - the omelets will fly.

Is that paragraph above confusing? Well, it's not as confusing as last night's 'Lost' was. (Note: what follows might be spoiler-ish if you haven't seen the episode, so proceed with caution!)

Review: 'Lost' - 'LA X, Parts 1 and 2' (Season Premiere)

Lost premiere
(S06E01/S06E02) "We're back." - Kate

Did you hear that? That was the collective sound of TV fans across the country all brain-farting in unison. 'Lost' is back for its final season and I've gotta be honest -- I'm not really sure what to think about 'LA X.' In four or five months time, once the series has concluded, I'm positive I'll think differently about it. However, right now, 'LA X' was easily one of the most confusing hours of 'Lost' yet, and despite ABC's promos promising that "questions would be answered," all it gave us was a jumbo-jet (literally) chock full of new ones. Whatever ... I still loved every second of it.

Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly are Finished with TV When 'Lost' Ends

Fox, LillyYou hear it from TV stars all the time: after someone stars on a TV show (especially a popular one that lasts 5 or 7 or 10 years), they say they're never coming back to television again. They want to graduate to the film world and see how things go there. David Caruso could probably warn you against saying that, but TV stars keep saying it anyway.

The latest with that plan are 'Lost' stars Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly. Fox says he's done 300 hours of TV ('Lost' and 'Party of Five') so he wants to move back to the Pacific Northwest to be with his family and try films. Lilly? She wants to quit acting altogether! She says she might work on films, but it could be behind the scenes.
