Best TV of the '00s: Reality Series {TV Squad}

Jan 2nd 2010 1:09AM We're discussing "decade" in the way that one would describe the 90s as a decade. The rules of which you speak do not apply, as yesterday was the final year of the '00s. This is not the same as the "Millennium Confusion," which did, in fact, start in 2001.

The Dumbest Ad Quotes Of 2009 {Cinematical}

Dec 31st 2009 4:32PM the West County Times (Bay Area, California) had this last Friday: "Say 'NEIN' to Nine."

Dec 22nd 2009 2:06AM Braff is signed for six, but Faison is still a lead.

Sundays With Seth: Christmas and the Rapture {TV Squad}

Dec 14th 2009 5:10PM Where can I find a high-res version of that "Rapture" poster?

It was definitely bizarre, but AD definitely went crazy for their Christmas special in '07, where Stan died and went to heaven, culminating in an all-out metaphysical war.

New TV on DVD releases this week {TV Squad}

Nov 30th 2009 9:44PM That's Tom Servo, not Crow T. Robot. The Crow figurine was found in a previous MST3K collection.

Kelsey Grammer's going Broadway in La Cage Aux Folles {TV Squad}

Nov 30th 2009 7:23PM I hope this just isn't merely a vanity project, because LA CAGE was revived on Broadway only five years ago, where it did fairy well. The musical is not nearly as good as that short time between revivals would indicate (it's no GYPSY), so this is a major surprise. This would have to be a major rethinking of the show, or else nobody will give a crap.

Unless, of course, this is Arthur Laurents continuing his I'm-nearing-the-end-of-my-life slew of reviving his old shows (GYPSY, WEST SIDE STORY), in which case it'd be a fascinating bit of theatre. (I'd recommend reading his book "Mainly On Directing" for his take on the much-maligned show.)

Jay Leno's ratings suck less {TV Squad}

Nov 28th 2009 1:36PM Just so everyone is aware, his ratings are still abysmal, even up against reruns. It's just no longer catastrophic. This is some major NBC spin, because Leno is still getting worse ratings than certain basic cable shows.
