Jay Leno Quizzes Cast of 'Jersey Shore' (VIDEO)

Jay Leno, The Situation, Jersey ShoreDo you think the cast of 'Jersey Shore' know how ridiculously stupid they are? And if so, why would they broadcast it everywhere they go? Yeah, we know. There's money in stupidity, apparently.

On 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), they continued their spiral into the land of dumb by getting quizzed on politics -- and failing miserably.

Chelsea Handler and Jay Leno Take a Helicopter Ride (VIDEO)

Jay Leno, Chelsea HandlerYou just never know what's going to happen when you're a guest on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). When Chelsea Handler stopped by, she got to take a helicopter ride with Jay Leno.

"I feel like a bad episode of 'The Bachelor,'" said Leno as they climbed into the chopper. "Chelsea and I are going to join the mile high club!"

"That's never gonna happen," shot back Handler. Yeah, because if it did, we'd all hear about it on 'Chelsea Lately.'

Betty White May Host 'Saturday Night Live' Solo After All

Good news, bad news: The bad news is, while 'Saturday Night Live' will indeed have a "Women in Comedy" special in April, Betty White won't be part of it. The good news is, 'SNL' producers are still in talks with her about the solo hosting gig that her nearly half a million Facebook fans have been clamoring for.

The news came from a panel discussion in New York on Tuesday night about 'SNL,' whose attendees included longtime 'SNL' executive producer Lorne Michaels and 'SNL' head writer/'Weekend Update' anchor Seth Meyers. "I think it's happening," Meyers told Jezebel.com, about a White hosting gig. "We would love to have her."

Sarah Palin Debuts Stand-Up Routine on 'Leno' (VIDEO)

The Tonight Show, Sarah PalinSarah Palin debuted her new stand-up routine on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). Was it that funny? No, not really.

Actually, she was funnier before she got up to do her routine. When Jay Leno asked her if she'd ever thought about doing a talk show, she said. "Well, I hear once in a while, this one comes open."

Jay Leno's 'Tonight Show' Return Is a Ratings Winner

Jay LenoMeet the new boss, same as the old boss.

To no one's surprise, Jay Leno's much-heralded return to 'The Tonight Show' on Monday was a ratings success, at least according to early overnight numbers. According to the Hollywood Reporter, advance numbers show Leno winning his timeslot with a 5.4 rating in metered market households and a rating of 2.0 among adults 18-49. That easily beat the 3.0 household rating for 'The Late Show With David Letterman' on CBS and the ABC ratings (cited by Entertainment Weekly) of 3.4 for 'Nightline' and 1.8 for 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.'

Leno's return had coattails too. Following 'Tonight,' NBC's 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' posted a 2.1 rating, twice its fourth-quarter 2009 average and enough to beat usual timeslot victor 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson' by 40 percent.

Howard Stern Accuses Jay Leno of Stealing Material (VIDEO)

Shock jock Howard Stern appeared on 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM on CBS) and did little to mask his intense dislike of Jay Leno, accusing the 'Tonight Show' host of stealing comedy bits from himself and David Letterman.

"Jay is ... a thief and that's what gets my goat the most," Stern said. "Jay takes and lifts bits directly from my show, from Dave's show ... Jay's signature bit 'Jaywalking' was lifted from my show. I've been doing this bit for years."

Jay Leno Celebrates 'Tonight Show' Return With Betty White

Tonight Show with Jay LenoIt was mostly business as usual when Jay Leno returned to 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET, NBC) Monday night. The late night host joked, "I'm Jay Leno, your host ... at least for a while," alluding to the battle for the coveted NBC time slot with short-lived tenant Conan O'Brien.

Leno even mocked his return with an opening skit paying tribute to 'The Wizard of Oz,' in which he awoke saying, "There's no place like home." Eventually, Betty White who brought him back to reality.

David Letterman Pokes Fun at Jay Leno (VIDEO)

David Letterman David Letterman wasted no time poking fun at Jay Leno's return to the 11:35PM spot. The host of 'Late Show With David Letterman' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) started off his monologue with, "Thank you very much. Welcome to the 'Late Show.' My name is David Letterman. Same time, same host."

Then he followed it up by saying it's a rough night for his mom. She doesn't know whether to watch Jimmy Kimmel or Jay Leno. Being Dave's mom, she probably has a good sense of humor about all of his ribbing.

March 2010 Premiere Dates And Finales

Dancing with the Stars / Nip/Tuck
Now that Olympic fever has subsided, it's time to look ahead to a March filled with many returning favorites, including ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars,' NBC's 'The Apprentice,' and Comedy Central's bad boys of 'South Park.' The month also offers both 'The 82nd Annual Academy Awards' on ABC and NCAA Basketball's "March Madness" on CBS.

March kicks off with one of the most controversial premieres of the year. After a dismal performance in primetime, Jay Leno returns to 'The Tonight Show' (Mon., March 1 at 11:35PM on NBC) desk he temporarily vacated for Conan O'Brien. Make sure you don't miss a moment of the biggest premieres and finales in March.

Ratings: 5 Ways NBC Can Keep Its Momentum Going After the Olympics

Bode Miller OlympicsWhile the Winter Olympics may not have offered viewers much in terms of surprises, they've certainly provided ratings analysts with some gasp-worthy news: The daily coverage from Vancouver has allowed NBC, much like Lazarus, to rise from the dead (read: perpetual fourth place in network ratings) and steal third place for the first time since 2004.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Peacock has been averaging 26 million viewers per Olympics telecast, gaining 12 percent season-to-date and unceremoniously dumping ABC into fourth position over the past 10 nights.

Is it a fluke? Maybe. THR is quick to point out that the Olympics are not necessarily a surefire launchpad for continued ratings stability. NBC's coverage of the 2008 Beijing Games, for example, failed to infuse its subsequent fall schedule with much pizazz, resulting in the cancellation of enthusiastically-hyped shows such as 'My Own Worst Enemy.' And after the NBC's recent mid-game fumble with 'The Tonight Show,' confidence in the Peacock is at an all-time-low, with every jaded journalist in the blogosphere waiting to see how the network plans to recover.

With that in mind, we've compiled a list of five ways for NBC to maintain its momentum after the Olympic flame goes out.
