Notes on Kite Aerial Photography: Photo Gallery

Edwards Track Stadium
University of California, Berkeley

The Edwards Track Stadium bleachers back up to Oxford Street on the west side of campus and running the stadium risers (Canon 24-mm, April 2000).

During the last year the campus has refurbished our track and field venue -- the Edwards Track Stadium. They have done a good job of it too. The stadium has a new running surface, new accoutrements, and a tidier set of bleachers.

It turns out that this is a fun place to fly a kite with a couple of caveats. The first is the fact that I shared the stadium field with two practicing javelin throwers. I was impressed with their range and kept a wary eye out throughout the session. Now I know what it feels like to be an antelope. The other issue was the sudden appearance of industrial scale sprinkler  heads rising from the ground followed by an instant and heavy manmade rain.
