Building a Community of Passionate Participants

Our fundraising events raise millions of dollars each year for the programs and services of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. They also help build community and spark ongoing community dialogue about HIV/AIDS. We inspire participants in these events to do more for themselves and for others. Here's how you can run, ride, or walk to help end the AIDS pandemic and support your community at home and abroad.

AIDS/LifeCycle

AIDS/LifeCycle is a seven-day, 545-mile bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles that benefits and is produced by both the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. Last June, more than 3,000 Cyclists and volunteer Roadies participated in the event, raising more than $14 million. This incredibly important event not only raises funds for HIV/AIDS services in San Francisco and Los Angeles but also raises community awareness that the AIDS pandemic is far from over. AIDS/LifeCycle highlights the vital role these two agencies play in battling the disease.

AIDS/LifeCycle 9 takes place June 6-June 12, 2010. If you'd like to learn more, please go to www.AIDSLifeCycle.org

AIDS Walk San Francisco

AIDS Walk San Francisco is one of the oldest AIDS fundraisers in the country and has raised more than $60 million over the last two decades. Held every July in Golden Gate Park, it brings together thousands of San Franciscans from all walks of life who are united in their commitment to end the human suffering caused by AIDS. Last year, we raised more than $4.5 million for the work of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and dozens of other AIDS service organizations throughout the Bay Area.

Be Greater Than One

>1 (Greater Than One) participants unite to create something larger than themselves. Whether you’re a veteran of marathons, cycling events and triathlons or you are now ready to face an endurance challenge for the first time, you will train with experts, learning fundamentals of fitness, nutrition and mental stamina to propel you to the finish line. By fundraising and bringing the message of good health wherever you go, you will help the Foundation reduce new HIV infections in San Francisco and elsewhere.
