Abstract

The purpose of this project is to do the following: describe the various management strategies for both groundwater and surface water as discussed in the literature; examine the attitudes of stakeholders in Region I about water management strategies; make recommendations to improve current management strategies to ensure long-term water sustainability in East Texas. This project uses a survey, created to illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of certain management strategies, to identify the must useful water management strategy for East Texas. The results of the project indicate a need for new management strategies to ensure long term water sustainability in the region
