The Plant Pathology group at the ETH is best known for its research in pathogen population genetics, apple resistance breeding, and biological control of soil-borne pathogens.
Our research spans the spectrum in agriculture, from molecular- to ecosystem-orientation and from mathematical theory to field application. We consider this research breadth to be a strength as it allows us to train students in a cross-disciplinary fashion.
The group has strong international collaborations and attracts students and scientists from many countries, as evidenced by the fact that as many as 16 nationalities can be found working at any time within our group. We consider this cultural diversity to be an additional asset because our research has a significant international orientation.
