Ditch the blankets, turn off those heaters… Coup De Main and Savvy Promotions have teamed up to bring you the best medicine for these cold winter nights - some of the hottest local musical talent, together in one room, bringing you some sweet sweet sounds to dance, sing and shuffle... yes, shuffle... the night away. At what? THE WINTER SHUFFLE. Oh yes, get your dancing shoes (or slippers, we won’t judge) on and be sure to hit up Ellen Melville Hall on August 7th for a Winter party unlike any other.

COMPUTERS WANT ME DEAD, RUBY FROST, Kidz In Space, Leno Lovecraft and Dats The Crux will be sharing the stage - bringing their unique styles and talents to the masses - showcasing the finest talent NZ has to offer. It’s a diverse yet delightful line-up which covers everything from hip hop to electro, from indie-pop to... Italian disco?! Yes, there really is something for everyone.

Computers Want Me Dead

We personally recommend checking out Computers Want Me Dead - the electro duo Sam Harvey and Damien Daniels united by a love of synths and all things electro. Having taken over C4 and NZ radio stations with their catchy first single ‘We Walk In Circles’ last year, the two-some have just released the video for their latest single ‘In Your Blood’ which is already making waves in the NZ music scene. Definite must-see!

Ruby Frost is also making a name for herself - when she’s not pretending to be Hannah Montana on What Now (yes, I saw that...) - she’s winning the 42Unheard unsigned artist competition, signing a record deal with Universal Music, and playing to the New York locals at the CMJ festival (late last year). Luckily for her, she is way better than Hannah Montana - performing her delicate and sweet songs which mix together folk, pop, electro and indie, in a way that only Ruby Frost can pull off.

And if for some reason you’re still not convinced, maybe the temptations of a giant Twister competition complete with prizes (free stuff!!) will lure you away from your power sucking heating device... and for the shopaholics among us, Closet will be bringing a collection of t-shirts for some late night shopping action. Tickets for this Winter-time extravaganza are $20 in a limited pre-sale (so get in quick!) - when they run out they will be $25 and available from Giapo or www.dashtickets.co.nz.
