HTC Mozart/Mondrian Photos Leak (New Info)

Update below. We've known about the HTC Mondrian for months after the ROM was leaked on XDA-Developers. It's going to be one of the first Windows Phone 7 devices from HTC. From these new leaked pictures, it appears that the device will have a slate form factor with a very predomenant Windows Flag key on the front (required for all WP7 devices). Update: We just received some new information from the source of this leak who has actually gotten a chance to use the Mozart. Here are some new details: 1. The battery is 1400mAh with charging on the side,  read more

Dell Streak Review

Times certainly are changing. Devices that can boast a larger screen are becoming the current fad. By increasing screen sizes manufacturers hope to fortify users’ ability to multitask and become even more efficient by maximizing usability. Dell has jumped onto the bandwagon by releasing the Dell Streak, an Android tablet device that also doubles as a phone. The 5” screen certainly creates a long list of possibilities, but will the screen be too big, making the phone cumbersome? Read on to find out! A New Samsung Windows Phone 7 Device Spotted

We know that the Samsung Cetus is on its way to AT&T; this fall packing Windows Phone 7, a 4" AMOLED display, and a round-corner design. But what is this device, posted by a developer on Twitter? It's different than the Samsung Taylor which has been deployed to thousands of developers around the world. It's possible that it's a more mature reference design from Samsung (since the Taylor was pretty much an Omnia HD under the hood), or it could be a new WP7 device headed to market. It has sharp edges, what looks to be an AMOLED display, a circular  read more

AppStore Pick: Awesome Note For iOS

This might sound lame, but one of my personal needs is to have a tool that does a really good job in helping me take notes and segregate these by date. Another is that the content of these notes is searchable because I usually revisit them to build my weekly tasks. Awesome Note is one of those Apps I've stumbled upon that does all these things effectively, and manages to do it in a very fancy and organized way. Aside from the basics, this is a 4+ rated app that allows you to add images and even map imagery to your notes so you can have an easier time  read more

Android Users Twice as Desirable for Long-Term Relationships

According to a survey by Gizmodo using data gathered by dating site OkCupid, iPhone users have (on average) twice as many sexual parters as do Anroid users. Gizmodo concludes that "iPhone users get laid more than Blackberry and Android users", which is an incorrect interpretation of the data (as frequency of intimate relations wasn't included in the source data, only number of partners). More importantly, they're over looking another interpretation: Android users are twice as desirable for long-term relationships than iPhone users. Of course, neither  read more

Google's New Apps a Sign of Future OS Updates?

We saw a lot of cool, new things from Google today, specifically Chrome to Phone's official release and new Google Voice Actions ("voice commands" for you WinMo guys). These apps essentially extend the functionality of the Android operating system itself. Compare that to Google, Market, Voice, and Maps. All these are apps that sit on top of the OS. The new "intents" and "Voice Actions" are deeper than just apps. They bring new functionality to the OS itself. One has to wonder, is Google moving OS updates to the Market as a means of distribution? If  read more

Brandon shared Google's Chrome to Phone app and associated browser plugin with us back in May, with links to how to get the un-official release. Today they are now available with Google's blessing. For those of you who aren't familiar with Chrome to Phone, it's one of those "why didn't I think of that" apps. Have you ever wanted to send a link or other information from your computer, right to your phone? With the Chrome to Phone browser extension (available for Chrome and Firefox) you can essentially pair your Android 2.2+ phone with your web browser on  read more

Google Voice Actions Gives You More Voice Commands for Android

Google announced Voice Actions today, which will give Android users more control of their Android handsets using voice-based commands. Voice Actions will be available for Android Froyo 2.2 devices--just search for it in Android Market--and will ship natively with the Droid 2. Google had enabled some voice control on its Android handset prior, including commands for navigation by saying "Navigate to (address)", but Voice Actions take it a step further by introducing controls for music playback, website navigation, calls, contacts, notes to self, and  read more
