Rick Ross Predicts 'Best VMAs of All Time' -- Say What!

Rick Ross says this year's MTV Video Music Awards are going to be...the best. "This is gonna be the dopest MTV VMAs ever," the Bawse predicted. "I'm letting you know. Not only because I'm a part of it, but when I walked into the auditorium where the VMAs are being held, I felt like I stepped off a ship on Pandora. If you ever saw the movie 'Avatar,' that's the feeling. Everything feels big, everything feels futuristic. It feels space-age. We got the dopest female in late night hosting the show, Chelsea Handler. She's on fire right now. She's sizzling. She's sexy as ever....Expect the game to be stepped up 2,000 percent.....It's the best of music, it's the best of performances, it's the best host and the dopest set I've ever seen ever. This is Pandora." Yeah, but Ricky you like everything. [MTV]

Though Quincy Jones recently revealed that he's no fan of Lady Gaga's, the man sure loves Amy Winehouse. Describe their first meeting, the legendary producer said "We hugged and I said, 'Why you got to mess up your life like this?' She said, 'I'm gonna be OK. My husband's getting out of jail soon.' I said, 'Wow! That's a big positive!' She's like Naomi [Campbell], my other little naughty sister." Naughty, huh. That's ill. [TheGuardian]

Trademark will join Curren$y, Smoke DZA, and Big K.R.I.T. on the Smokers Club tour, beginning Oct. 1 in Toronto, Ont.

There's nothing like the beginning of the school year. If you are a student starting out at NYU, the beginning of classes is even more special because every year the school puts on a concert with a mystery guest to get students excited for the upcoming semester. This year's surprise guest was none other than Big Boi.

Joined by Dr. Dog and The Knocks, Daddy Fat Sax headlined the Sept. 8 event at NYU's Skirball Center and ran through multiple Outkast hits as well as 2010 bangers from his recent 'Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty' record. The crowd seemed especially excited to hear some of the Outkast hits that defined their early teen years -- 'Ms. Jackson,' 'Player's Ball' and 'Rosa Parks.'

Kanye West Gives Impromptu Show Atop New York Bar

Kanye West's 'Rosewood Movement' -- the one in which he wears suits and encourages others to fancy it up -- fits in more with the fashion community than with music fans. That said, it's no surprise that Ye has already made a splash during New York City's Fashion Week festivities, sitting front row at fashion shows and holding a secret performance at The Standard hotel's Boom Boom Room last night.

The Boom Boom Room is one of the absolute most exclusive venues in New York City. It's small, has a rather serious no-photo policy and the door is harder to get into than a bank vault. Even with all the security, a series of fashion writers and fans were able to sneak a couple photos and tweets out.

Kanye Returns for 2nd Season of 'The Cleveland Show'

Fox

Kanye West is set to return for his second season on 'The Cleveland Show' with a guest appearance on the cartoon comedy's premiere episode later this month. His character "Kenny West" will be taken under the wing of the show's star, Cleveland, who decides to mentor the struggling rapper for his own benefit.

With Cleveland's help, West will record a hit song that burns up the music charts and finally adds some momentum to his fizzling rap career, while Cleveland gets left behind. The new track, titled 'Be-Cleve in Yourself,' was reportedly penned and recorded by West especially for the show. West first appeared on 'The Cleveland Show's' inaugural season as a single-father, and struggling rapper, who went head-to-head with Cleveland Jr. over the same love interest.
