Sons of Sylvia Fans Get to 'Know' New Single

Sons of SylviaSons of Sylvia are releasing their second single, 'I'll Know You,' from the group's album, 'Revelation,' to radio this week. The song wasn't written in a hour -- as was the band's previous single, 'Love Left to Lose,' but it was written and recorded quickly.

"We all got together and collaborated with [producers] Brian Howes and Catt Gravitt," Austin Clark tells The Boot. "[My brothers Ashley and Adam, and I] had all talked about how we wanted to write something emotional, like finding your true love and never giving up and knowing she is out there. Every song is different but this one didn't take long either. We all got together in the studio in Vancouver, Canada, and wrote it. Then we walked into the next room and recorded it."

Asked who had the idea for the song, Ashley hesitantly replies, "Well, I don't want to take credit for it, but ... [laughs]."

Taylor Swift Honored by Her High School

    Peter Kramer, AP

It's evident through Taylor Swift's music and videos that she draws great inspiration from her high school experience, so it seems only appropriate that her alma mater, Hendersonville, Tenn.'s Hendersonville High School, would recognize contributions from its star pupil (pun intended). According to Hendersonville Star News, the Sumner County Board of Education voted September 21 to name HHS' auditorium for the precocious singer-songwriter.

The request came from Principal Joni Worsham, who said it was "an honor befitting [Taylor's] generous spirit." Worsham also recognized the $75,000 donation Taylor made to the school last year in order to revamp the auditorium's sound and lighting systems. The upgrade benefits not only students, but local organizations that use the facility.

"The first time I can remember Taylor performing in our community was on the stage of the HHS auditorium, using the old sound system," Worsham said. "Truly her thoughtful gift has improved our campus and the programs that are held in the auditorium."

Jonathan Cain Is Happy to Have Journeyed to Nashville

Jonathan Cain has had his share of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle. Famous for his longtime role as keyboardist for the band Journey (he also penned their classic hit, 'Faithfully'), Jonathan has now gone a little bit country, calling Nashville his home.

"It's a great town. It's a family area," the Chicago native tells The Boot of his new home in Music City. "I started writing here in 2000 with some of the guys. My daughter Madison is an aspiring country artist, and she's been doing demos here since she was 13. We fell in love with the town over the last four or five years. We got tired of the California rat race. So it's good to be one of the Volunteers."

Miranda Lambert Surprises Her Alma Mater

Students and faculty members of Lindale High School in Texas had to do a double take Wednesday morning when former student Miranda Lambert walked through the doors. The country songbird made the surprise visit to say thanks to her alma mater in response to the Lindale Independent School District's efforts in the Nickels for Nashville campaign. The Lindale ISD campuses and community raised $3,613.13 (all in change) to support recovery efforts in Nashville and surrounding communities hit by devastating floods in May. During her visit, Miranda presented framed, autographed photos to each Lindale ISD campus.

The school district surprised Miranda with its generous donation last May during her Cause for the Paws pet-adoption benefit concert in Tyler, Texas. Miranda donated all of the funds raised by Lindale ISD to the Nashville Humane Association (NHA). The NHA experienced severe overcrowding due to the large number of animals displaced by the Nashville floods.

Alan Jackson Is Martina McBride's Ideal 'Mississippi Man'

Martina McBride figuratively steps into the glittery ballroom dress of Loretta Lynn, while Alan Jackson affects the sexy swagger of Conway Twitty on the remake of the legendary singers' 1973 No. 1 hit, 'Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man,' from the new collection, 'Coal Miner's Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn.'

Martina is a big fan of the lanky singer-songwriter and had hoped he would agree to join her on the duet. "I love Alan's voice. He's one of my favorite singers. He always has been," Martina tells The Boot. "He's just a great, great country singer, and we worked together on his last album. It just seemed like he was the right fit. We did 'Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man,' and I knew he would nail it, and he did. I can't wait for you guys to hear it!"

    Lady Antebellum Say 'Hello World'

    Joel Ryan, AP

Lady Antebellum are sitting pretty at No. 1 on the country singles charts with 'Our Kind of Love,' but they are already plotting for their next hit off their double-platinum-selling 'Need You Now' album. The country trio releases the spine-tingling ballad, 'Hello World,' this week.

"I don't think we've ever been more excited about putting a song out to radio as we are now," Lady A's Dave Haywood tells The Boot. "We believe so much in this message and so much in what this song says. We heard this song on a Friday before we were recording on a Monday to cut the album. We were right at the very end, and we were thinking to ourselves that we really wanted to have a song that had a positive message and something that will help give people hope on our CD. We didn't feel like we had that yet."

Bandmate Hillary Scott made a suggestion that would change Lady A's "world." "Hillary had this song on her iPod," Dave recalls. "Someone had given it to her two or three years ago when she was going through a little bit of a rough time. She was like, 'This song gave me a lot of hope during this time in my life ... It's just something I leave on my iPod because it gives me hope when I'm having a bad day.' She played it for us, and it was literally a piano and [songwriter] Tom Douglas' vocal on it. Tom wrote the song with David Lee and Tony Lane. It almost brought all three of us to tears. We knew that's the song that we were looking for. That's what we wanted to say and be affiliated with ... that kind of message."

Jaron and the Long Road to Love, 'That's Beautiful to Me' Video -- Exclusive Preview

    Jaronwood/Big Machine

In his funny video for 'Pray for You,' we saw what happens if someone gets on Jaron's bad side. On Jaron and the Long Road to Love's new single, 'That's Beautiful to Me,' the singer is showing fans his romantic side. Jaron invited The Boot to hang out with him and his on-screen love interest, Kristin Cavallari from 'The Hills,' in Los Angeles to bring you an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video for 'That's Beautiful to Me.'

The video follows the song's storyline about a woman who is endearingly quirky -- she likes flowers, but not red roses; she goes to buy a dog and comes home with three -- but her antics only make her more lovable to her boyfriend. "It's all those things that could be annoying, but [instead], it's 'That's my girl and she's beautiful'," Jaron tells The Boot.
