4. Headline a bit misleading here. Clarification needed. "Soft Rock" is synonym for BAD ROCK. That is universally understood by one and all (apology to those women out there who comprise 100% of all "soft rock" lovers). So when you have a list of the top ten soft rock songs ever you are really talking about the best of the worst. No wait. Isn't it really the worst of the worst? Yeah thats it, the worst of the worst.

7. This is actually a comment on the the saddest song list, though it might be seen as a soft rock song as well: How could no one have chosen the saddest song ever written---Cat Stevens's "How Can I Tell You," the quintessential ode of longing for romantic love. I've literally cried at least 10,000 tears listening to this song.

9. There's just too many to keep the list at 10 but this list isn't complete without a song from Bread like "Make It With You" or "Everything I Own", ect.

12. I live in a world where soft rock happily co-exists with other genres and annoyed that people feel the need to dismiss it as somehow less worthy than whatever they prefer. If you're too hot and happenin' for soft rock now, just wait, it'll be here when you're ready for it and when you can't remember what you saw in the Ramones or Twisted Sister.
