iFixit: Apple TV has 8GB of onboard flash storage
That question has been answered by the guys at iFixit, who as usual, have been the first to tear apart and document the internal workings of the Apple TV. The answer: 8GB of NAND flash RAM made by Samsung. The iFixit team speculates that the RAM is most likely going to be used to cache incoming video streams, but it might also be used to temporarily hold apps that could run under iOS on the device.
More interesting news about the Apple TV is bound to come out in the next couple of days; stay tuned to TUAW for all of your Apple TV coverage.
Correction to original post: that's 8GB of onboard flash storage, 256MB of actual RAM. We apologize for the error.

*Sigh*
The one time TUAW posts something newsworthy while still news (and not several days later like they usually do) and they balls it up!

Normally I find the TUAW bashing unnecessary and unkind, but on this occasion I can't help but agree that this is a bit poor. Then again, TUAW provides a service that costs me exactly nothing. So thanks TUAW, even if you get stuff wrong sometimes.

To be fair though, nearly every website on the web provides a service that costs the user nothing ;-)

To be fair then, everyone should stop complaining so much on every website... not just TUAW...
I agree on this one though.. I mean can having one other person really proofread it be that hard? (My high school yearbook had less errors in it)

Hope we can port boxee, perian and xbmc over :D. Should be possible I think, eventually.

You put a correction at the bottom, but still didn't fix the article? Why don't you actually fix the text.

Why not just have a sentence to say to go read it at iFixit instead of the failed attempt of paraphrase it?
