The normally mild-mannered Roger Federer lashed out at allegations that he provided his management company's president, Theodore Forstmann of IMG, with inside information regarding the 2007 French Open final against Rafael Nadal, as was reported by TMZ earlier in the week.
Federer, a 16-time Grand Slam champion, noted in the most recent TMZ article that "the whole thing is 100 percent not true."
TMZ's first story noted that Forstmann allegedly raised a wager from $10,000 to $40,000 after Federer gave him inside information regarding the final against Nadal.
TMZ reported that Federer said the following at a recent press conference during the Shanghai Masters event in China: "It's disappointing that someone's throwing my name around. I would never do such a thing." Federer continued, "My fans know that, the people who know me ... I have nothing to hide. I'm sorry for those who think there is something to the story. But there's nothing."
