Tuesday's scheduled game between the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic has been postponed due to safety concerns at Madison Square Garden. Debris from asbestos-related materials fell into the arena during overnight maintenance in the attic above the ceiling following Monday's New York Rangers game, the team explained in a statement.
A makeup date has not yet been scheduled. The Knicks will work with the city of New York and independent experts to evaluate the situation and determine how to remedy it. "As the safety of our customers and employees are our top priority," the team's statement states, "we will not reopen the Garden until we are absolutely assured the Arena is safe."
Ticketholders for Tuesday's game are advised to hold onto their tickets until a makeup date is announced.
It's not yet known if any other games will be rescheduled. The Knicks play in Chicago on Thursday before returning to New York for games Friday against the Washington Wizards and Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers. If Madison Square Garden has not yet been cleared by the weekend, the Knicks and the NBA may consider playing the games at a different venue rather than rescheduling for later in the season.
This is the second time in two weeks the Magic have prepared for a game that wasn't played, the first being a preseason game against the Miami Heat in Tampa that was canceled and not rescheduled due to a slippery floor.

No more toxic than the way the Knicks play .
has does this happen in a legendary building
Oh my goodness....
The postings by Frank, Britton Family!, and joe yan are totally idiotic and exhibit a complete ignorance of the English language. When are these morons going to get their acts together? Until they do, I wish they would not clutter the comments boards with their garbage.
By-the-way, MSG is the well-accepted abbreviation for monosodium glutamate, a frequent additive in Chinese food. The normal slang for the Madison Square Garden is "The Garden". Where do these illiterate idiots live?
Hold onto your wallets, they are just getting you prepared for a new arena.
WHERE'S KNICK EMPLOYEE, AL GRAY?
