Duties at Massively
Brendan is the main EVE Online guy here at Massively and writer of the weekly EVE Evolved column, published every Sunday at 6PM. The column covers everything from guides and opinion pieces to commentary on game design, hints on preparing for upcoming expansions and more. In addition to the column, Brendan covers most of EVE Online's news, community events, general interest stories and other posts. When he finds the time in his hectic schedule, he can sometimes be found writing features on game design topics or other MMOs he's playing.

Offline time
In his spare time, Brendan works on his own game development projects, plays the occasional game of Dungeons and Dragons and cuddles cats and dogs. Is hugging a hobby?

Gaming History
Brendan's first experience with gaming was with a Commodore Amiga at the age of ten. He spent countless hours playing old classics like Frontier: Elite II, Worms, Lemmings, Valhalla and dozens of public domain titles. When he finally got access to a PC and internet connection, Brendan became firmly entrenched in the online communities for his favourite games. He would spend hours per day playing Netstorm and Stellar Frontier online, going as far as to set up websites for them. When Brendan played his first MMO, Runescape, at a local gaming internet cafe, he was instantly hooked on massively multiplayer gaming. In 2004, he was introduced to EVE Online, which he's played ever since. Today he can be found playing EVE Online and sometimes Runes of Magic, EverQuest II or World of Warcraft.

Fun Facts about Brendan

•  * Brendan is from Northern Ireland but he doesn't drink alcohol. That should be practically enough to get him thrown out of the country!
• * He's been vegan for over five years.
• * Last year Brendan graduated with first class honours from a masters degree in Computer Science at one of the UK's top 20 research universities.
• * He sometimes works on game development projects and graphics tech demos in his spare time.
