Video: Russian PM Putin test drives F1 car

Renault's Carlos Ghosn was recently in Russia to settle on purchasing a 50-percent stake in AvtoVaz, and it appears he brought along a vintage Renault Formula 1 car for his pal Vladimir Putin to flog about. Once installed in the cockpit, Putin gets some instruction from a Renault engineer in French-accented English, then cranks the revs and runs it down what looks like a wet runway. There looked to be at least one spin involved, but considering how finicky F1 cars are to drive even for the paid professionals, it didn't look like a bad job. Follow the jump for the video. I think its an early 2000s Renault/Benetton.
Pretty sure its an F1 car. The other car running with it mightve been a GP2 though.

Good thing it's the GP2 car or Richard Hammond will never forgive himself. Think back to when he drove the F1 Renault and how many tries it took him to launch the car.

don't feel so bad. he's still the prime minister of russia, and that pretty much means he's about as free as his people, a telling sign is that you mostly hear about him in publicity stunts - not so much when moscow is engulfed in smoke.

Yeah, Putin is pretty amazing. I think the highlight is that part near the end when he wants to turn around so he stops the car and forces the earth to spin underneath him.
