Get a free Sam and Max Halloween themed episode this weekend

Developer Telltale Games is known to be generous on giving out the occasional free game chapters for its various episodic game franchises. This Halloween weekend the developer is doing just that with a free portion of the second "season" of its Sam and Max game series.

The episode is titled Night of the Raving Dead and as you might expect with such a title zombies are indeed involved. For this weekend only anyone can download this chapter of the funny episodic adventure game series for free. You can still get the entire second season for $9.95 or get all three seasons for $29.95.

Back to the Future due in December for PC and Mac; now available for pre-order

The wait is getting close to being over for Telltale Games' next episodic adventure game. Today the developer announced that its five part Back to the Future series will be released sometime in December for both the PC and Mac. You can also pre-order the entire five part "season" right now for $24.95.

The pre-order comes with a couple of extras. First you get a free copy of the one-shot Telltale Games title Puzzle Agent (worth $9.95). You also get access to a pre-release message board forum where you can chat with the Telltate team before the game is released. Finally if you pre-order the game directly from Telltale's web site, the company will donate $1 to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Back to the Future game to get incredible Michael J. Fox sound-alike

So when developer Telltalle Games announced plans to make an episodic adventure game series based on the Back to the Future movies, we were excited. Yet we were not happy to hear that Michael J. Fox wouldn't be able to handle the voice of the series' central character Marty McFly.

But as this new behind-the-scenes video from Gametrailers.com shows (after the jump), the actor who takes on the voice of Marty for the game, A.J. LoCascio, has a near perfect performance as the time-traveling teen. In fact LoCascio approached Telltale with an audition MP3 file for the role and it nailed him the part. You will be hearing him in his very first professional voice over work when the first chapter of the game is released via download sometime this winter.

More weekend PC game sales are available to save you big money

We have already posted up some weekend PC game sales on Thursday but there's always room for more. Here are some more deals that will expire this weekend or go on for even longer.

Back To The Future movie trilogy Blu-Ray package to contain voucher for free Telltale game

Telltale Games' next downloadable game project, as previously announced, will be a continuation of the Back to the Future movie trilogy. In a not-so-odd coincidence, the movie trilogy is coming out on Blu-Ray on October 26. So is Telltale going to take advantage of this promo opportunity for its episodic game?

You bet they are. As revealed on our sister site Joystiq, the Blu-Ray release will contain a voucher that will give its owner access to download the first of Telltale Games' five planned chapters for the game for free. The voucher code is not unique ("121GIGAWATTS") so it sounds like the first episode is likely to be free for most people who get it. There's no word yet on when the game itself will be released.

Tales of Monkey Island just $4.95 this weekend

Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day where everyone is expected to join in and say stuff like "matey" with a straight face. It's also the time for some good PC games to get some price cuts. After we had posted up our sales for the current weekend on Friday afternoon, developer Telltale Games sent over word of an extra special sales offer.

From now until Monday you can get their five chapter adventure game Tales of Monkey Island for a mere $4.95 which is less than the normal price for one episode of the game. Keep in mind that LucasArts is also selling the two Monkey Island graphical remakes for 50 percent off this weekend.

Telltale's Adventure Game Bundle 2010 to add Sam and Max Season 2

Telltale Games' big Adventure Game Bundle 2010 deal is coming to a close on Monday but before it does the developer has decided to unlock the sixth and final game for everyone who has or who will purchase the bundle. It's Sam and Max: Beyond Time and Space, the second "season" of Telltale's episodic game series. Telltale was going to wait to add Sam and Max until it sold 5,000 bundles but apparently decided to unlock the final game ahead of time.

Besides Sam and Max the bundle has the following games, all of which are available for the bundle price of $19.95: The Whispered World, Jack Keane, King's Quest Collection (with several games in the King's Quest series), Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 1, and Puzzle Agent. 25 percent of the proceeds will still be going to several charities including Child's Play, The World Wildlife Fund, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Nyota e.V., and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Great Adventure Game Bundle 2010 deal extended to Friday

Last Friday was supposed to be the last day that Telltale Games offered up the Great Adventure Bundle 2010 featuring a number of downloadable adventure games for the low price of $19.95. However Telltale has decided to extend that offer for a bit longer. The developer has announced that the bundle deal will now end on Friday, September 17.

Just a reminder: The games in the bundle include The Whispered World, Jack Keane, King's Quest Collection (with several games in the King's Quest series), Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 1, and Puzzle Agent. When the deal sells 5,000 bundles, Telltale will also unlock Sam and Max: Across Time and Space for free. 25 percent of the procees go to several charities including Child's Play, The World Wildlife Fund, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Nyota e.V., and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Reminder: Two charity-based PC game download sales end today

If you want to help out some worthy charities while also buying PC games, today is the last day you will be able to so for two such efforts. Telltale Games' Great Adventure Game Bundle ends today with players able to download and purchase a number of adventure titles from Telltale and other game developers and publishers for $19.95. 25 percent of the proceeds from the sale will be used by a number of different charities.

Also, Stardock's Impulse PC game download site is holding the last day of its own charity efforts as a number of publishers have agreed to donate a portion of its sales from Impulse to the Child's Play children's charity.

Telltale launches adventure game bundle deal for charity

If you love classic and new adventure games and also want to contribute something to society, Telltale Games has a deal for you. Today the developer launched The Great Adventure Game Bundle 2010 where you can purchase six game title for just $19.95. The games included in the bundle are The Whispered World, Jack Keane, King's Quest Collection (with three games in the King's Quest series) and Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 1.

In addition to the cheap price Telltale will give 25 percent of the proceeds from the bundle to five different charities (Child's Play, The World Wildlife Fund, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Nyota e.V., and the Electronic Frontier Foundation). You can pick which charity you want to support when you purchase the bundle. If you don't choose the money will be spread evenly among the five organizations.

Finally if 5,000 bundles are sold, Telltale will throw in access to its own game Puzzle Agent for free and will also provide Sam and Max: Across Time and Space for free after a second, unknown, amount of bundles are sold. There's no word on how long the bundle deal will last
