Here at Massively, we're all about getting involved with our community. We don't sit here hidden behind our computer screens, writing stories about games we don't play. We're right in the thick of things with you, experiencing the same bugs, the same upsets, the same updates, and the same gaming experience. We're PvPers, we're RPers, we're just starting the game, and we're at the endgame.
To that end, we throw all sorts of get-togethers for our readers, assemble some fun contests inside our favorite games, and we try to be as open and as transparent as possible. Plus, we like connecting all of you, the readers, together as well! So come game with us, meet some new people, and have a great time!
If you're interested in joining up with our community, there are a few really easy ways to do it! However, please note that all forms of communication (from our events to our comments) are covered under Massively.com's Code of Conduct! However, don't worry, as the code of conduct is extremely non-invasive and shouldn't stop you from saying what you want to say about your favorite games.
Connect with us on social media
If you're an avid social media user who loves updates on your favorite games, be sure to follow us on Twitter or choose the "like" option for us on Facebook. During the day we'll throw out polls, contests, quips, and quotes on all sorts of MMOs, in addition to providing you the most interesting stories of the day.
Just because we have an awesome community doesn't mean you should be limited! While breaking into a specific game's community can sometimes be hard to do, we've compiled a few guides to finding the best community sites for your favorite game. As more games are released and move on up in the spotlight, we'll make new guides as well as update our old ones. For now though, enjoy these looks into the fan communities behind your MMOs.
And don't be shy either! Retweet us, send us @messages or comments on our stories and you'll most likely hear back from one of us. We're not some pie-in-the-sky site -- we're gamers just like you. We love reporting on our favorite games, and we love talking to you about them as well!
Hang out in our state-of-the-art chat room
Shawn Schuster believes that Internet Relay Chat died in the 90s, but the requests for a chat room from our community members says otherwise! Now you too can annoy Massively.com editors in real time by dropping by our virtual clubhouse on QuakeNet, #massively. Feel free to come over, discuss the latest stories, arrange some in-game meetups, or just hang around and talk about lolcats.
If you don't have a IRC chat program, we recomment mIRC or Firefox's ChatZilla. If you prefer to keep your chat in your browser, then no worries, QuakeNet has a webchat option as well! If you need the explicit details of how to connect to QuakeNet, check out www.quakenet.org for all of the relevant information.
