Here we are doing the Sonia Benezra Show in Montreal. She's the Oprah of the French speaking part of Canada= Quebec.

I started off the interview and then towards the end, Sonia invited Shannon to come into the interview.

Sonia was very charming, and we loved doing the show.

Gene Simmons of Kiss delivered a keynote address at the 5th annual M For Montreal music conference on Wednesday.

His message continues to be the same, regardless of the forum: “You’re allowed to have a band, or you can have a brand.”

“What we all want to recognize is that a name means something," added Gene. "It doesn’t matter what it is: whether it has music, whether it’s a religious symbol, a political symbol, or a politician – everything should be a brand.”

Simmons spoke about brand management, downloading, trademarking and, in general, artist’s responsibilities to their brand.

There’s also news that the reactivated Simmons Records has secured its first signing: The Envy, a Toronto five-piece who will release their debut album early next year. The disc was co-produced by Desmond Child and Gavin Brown.

The Envy are booked as one of the openers on a Canadian tour by Finger Eleven, with dates across the country set for January/February of 2011.

Simmons attended The Envy’s gig Wednesday night, as part of the Montreal conference.

Despite years of blood-spitting, fire-breathing, and salacious tongue waggling, Gene Simmons is probably not the Antichrist. But the legendary KISS bassist, reality TV star, and marketing mastermind might be channeling Mammon, the demon of wealth, or perhaps whatever Horseman of the Apocalypse rides the most expensive thoroughbred. At least, that's the impression he seems to playfully cultivate in interviews and his long-running A&E; reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, as he shrewdly and pragmatically discusses dollars and cents with a devilishly sharp wit, and one eyebrow perpetually arched above impenetrably dark sunglasses.

As a founding member of KISS, one of the biggest-selling bands in rock history, Simmons continues to tour arenas all over the world. But he's in town this weekend for a different reason. At the M for Montreal music showcase, he'll be scouting talent for his new label, Simmons Records, and promoting his first signing, Toronto rockers The Envy, who gave a free show Wednesday night at Cafe Campus.

Partnered with ex-MP Belinda Stronach, Simmons' latest venture is focused exclusively on Canadian bands. “I really believe that the next generation of superstars is going to come out of Canada,” he says, “you've got perhaps the biggest marketing entity in the world right next door. You can take advantage of America, but you've got to have the goods.”

Here is the lovely Shannon Tweed posing in front of Shannon Tweed Lane in Sask, Canada.

Here is the lovely Miss Tweed on Pablo the horse.

You may remember Pablo was Sophie's horse in one of our earlier stories on GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS. Beverly Hills does not allow horses in town, so Pablo was sent to Malibu Stables... and then shipped off to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada... to a big, sprawling ranch owned by Kim Tweed, Shannon's sister.

Pablo is a happy horse.

Pablo is also a famous show horse. You have seen Pablo in Mel Gibson's THE PATRIOT, and Viggo Mortensson's HIDALGO and other movies.

After the jersey announcement, it was announced that one of Saskatoon’s most famous exports, model/actress/Playboy playmate Shannon Tweed, would be having a homecoming, bringing her famous husband — Gene Simmons of KISS — along for the ride.

They would be shooting an episode of their reality TV show "Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels" based on the concept. As part of the show, they decided to reach out to the Blades by asking for Shannon to drop the ceremonial faceoff

It was a scene that could only be explained by the presence of reality TV cameras: KISS frontman Gene Simmons strapped in goalie gear from head to ankle (he wore sneakers, not skates), in a shootout with a professional bull-riding cowboy draped in a denim hockey jersey.

In a promotion even the wackiest of minor league baseball executives would envy, the Saskatoon Blades of the junior Western Hockey League managed to combine an upcoming Professional Bull Riding event with the presence of Simmons, his long-time partner and local-girl-made-good Shannon Tweed, and a film crew from their reality TV show, Family Jewels. After Tweed, an actress and former Playboy playmate, dropped the ceremonial first puck, the glam rocker was strapped up and summoned to stop six attempts from the cowboy-hats-and-skates crowd. (The denim jerseys were also worn by the hometown Blades during their win over the Portland Winterhawks).

“Unbeknownst to me, right before half time, the crew comes over, ushers me into the dressing room, and they dress me up as a goalie!!!” Simmons said on his website. “No. I haven’t gained a ton of weight. That’s the padding under me. And around me. Oh yeah, I stopped four out of six pucks headed towards me!!!”

Rock 'n' roll royalty appeared at the Saskatoon Blades hockey game Friday night as KISS lead singer Gene Simmons and his partner Shannon Tweed were at Credit Union Centre for the Western Hockey League game.

Tweed is originally from Saskatoon, and her parents still live in the city.

Tweed dropped the puck before the game, and Simmons dressed up as a goalie during intermission, while professional bull riders took shots at him with a puck.

The couple are in Saskatoon shooting an episode for their television show Family Jewels.

KISS IS EVERYWHERE!

Here's KISS in another commercial for the Swedish lottery.

In Swedish, KISS means = PEE

In case you missed the first two, watch them below!

So, let's start off by saying, don't laugh.

But Miss Tweed and I travelled up to her Mom Louse's city... and we toured the sites... and went to a hocky game between Saskatoon and Portland, Ore. Saskatoon won.

Anyway, unbeknownst to me, right before half time, the crew comes over... ushers me into the dressing room, and they dress me up as a goalie!!!

Here are (unfortunately) some fotos of the momumental event...

No. I haven't gained a ton of weight.

That's the padding under me. And around me.

Oh yeah, I stopped 4 out of 6 pucks headed towards me!!!

And, I had my first taste of poutine... Canadian dish= french fries, with some kind of sauce on top of it, and cheese... Very tasty. Very fattening.

I had one.

And here's my helmet.

Cool, eh?!

“Bullying isn’t always about fists. It often starts as a joke.” That is one of the messages that Gene Simmons of KISS offers in the newest anti-bullying video created by the NOH8 campaign.

Simmons joins tattoo superstar Kat Von D, musician Dave Navarro, actress Denise Richards, Jeff Probst of Survivor, Dr. Drew and many other celebrities in the video. One of the main people in the video sends a message that goes against what her own political powerhouse husband has said. Cindy McCain speaks up for the gay and lesbian kids who see a country that relegates them to second class citizenship. She specifically cites the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy for serving in the military, a policy her husband Senator John McCain supports.

Many Gen X parents have kids who are in Jr. High and High School right now. Those age ranges are the most susceptible for being bullied and for considering suicide as a viable option. The parents of these kids need to be aware of what their children may be going through, so that they are able to get them help. Whether your child is gay or lesbian or not, they could be victims of bullies. Something that most Gen Xers did not have to deal with in growing up was “cyber-bullying”, but your kids do.

Gene Simmons of KISS will host 1,000 Texas servicemen and women and more than 3,500 partygoers at the “2011 Aces and Angels Salute to the Troops,” a benefit supporting The Wounded Warrior Project and the USO.

It is the first major event of the big game week in Dallas and takes place at Fair Park’s Centennial Hall, Wednesday, February 2, 2011, 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

“There is one man who will blow the roof off Dallas and that man is Gene Simmons. This is absolutely the one event that you definitely don’t want to miss,” said Executive Producer Michael Eakman.

We honor them today and everyday.

Here's young Nick at the Pat Tillman Foundation Charity Event... held in honor of a real American Hero, who gave his life for an ideal.

Nick sang with guitarist Robbie Krieger of the Doors, our own Tommy Thayer/KISS, and a host of great musicians.

Who stole the show?

Who do you think?

“GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS” RETURNS WITH TEN NEW EPISODES

NEW EPISODES RETURN TO A&E; ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 5 AT 9 PM ET/PT WITH A SPECIAL ONE-HOUR EPISODE OF THE AWARD WINNING SERIES

Legendary rock god and multi-hyphenate Gene Simmons returns to A&E; with brand new episodes of his hit award-winning unscripted series “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” premiering with a special one-hour episode on Sunday, December 5 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. The first episode captures a highly personal moment for Gene as he is forced to finally face his childhood demons, and his mother’s tragic past when visiting the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.

Gene’s life is an open book, but the one thing he keeps close to the vest is his mother’s harsh survival as a Jewish girl in Europe during WWII. His mother and Anne Frank were approximately the same age when they went into concentration camps, and seeing how Anne lived strikes an emotional chord with Gene. No one is more important to Gene than his mother, and it’s a raw and telling look at Gene’s family history and childhood that fans have never had access to before now.

Over the course of ten new episodes, fans will continue to get the behind the scenes access to the family’s many adventures and milestone moments that make them the most interesting and enduring family on television.
