Gemini Center pool opens to members
FAIRVIEW PARK — About 350 persons used the pool on Thursday, its first day of operation, recreation department officials said. The competition pool is completely ready for the fall high school season, when it will be used by the Fairview High School swim teams for practices and competitions.
LENSC may host other state, regional events

RTA riders ask for alternatives to cuts in bus service
WESTSHORE — RTA boss Joseph A. Calabrese described his public transit agency as having limited choices as it faces rising diesel fuel costs and decreased state funding. But bus riders who face the prospect of their service being cut show little sympathy and asked that almost anything be considered in order to maintain service.
