Developer The Creative Assembly is busy with making Total War: Shogun 2, the upcoming (and recently re-titled) latest game in the company's long running RTS series. However that doesn't mean the developer isn't thinking about the next game in the series.
Computer and Video Games chatted with the game's lead artist Kevin McDowell who stated, "We actually have a long shortlist of potential scenarios that include various sequels and also some things that we haven't seen yet." Could one of those things be a game set in the present day, in a huge departure from the series' previous historical settings? McDowell states, "Doing something modern would mean quite a few changes, meaning longer development time. But it's definitely possible, it's on our list."
