Yay! I'm dying to kick my Ions to the curb and hook up my Roland kit. I was pretty disheartened to see this keep slipping ship dates.

I can tell you that I would love to have one ASAP. I would much prefer to use one of my full size keyboards with RB3. At least I think I would.

@ds6220 I'm curious as well. I bought the RB3 keyboard, but the ridges on the three keys through me off when moving my hand during PRO mode. I'd like to see how I am on a full size MIDI keyboard.

"it's likely most of you won't need one of these until the March release of the Stratocaster controller anyway."

I think quite a few of us have MIDI-compatible keyboards in our homes, and would prefer to pay $40 for this adapter, rather than buying Mad Catz's $70 mini-keyboard.

@copa Yup.

Got a both a synthesizer (kinda cheap) and a digital piano, although the piano digital piano is kinda heavy to move maybe I'll just get the synthesizer from my storage in the basement. Nevermind, I'd buy this over a tiny keyboard that probably just wouldn't stand still.

@copa Yup, that's what I'm using it for.

@copa

I agree, that sentence really confused me. This doesn't have anything to do with the Strat, other than that it is a Rock Band peripheral.

@GewurztraminerX

Nevermind, I thought this was only needed for the keys...

Amazon has it for $29.99, and unavailable, while Best Buy has it for $39.99 and available. My impatience for this has me wanting to pay the extra $10, but i predict Amazon releasing it moments after I place my order.

I decided against this after I realizing that to use this on my huge library I would have to re buy everything. You bummed me out Harmonix, but we can still be friends.

@ZForce915 Hey, to even be able to use this, you still get the 80 or so songs that come with Rock Band 3, so that's not a bad tradeoff?

Plus you can play the guitar parts.

What about uber-expensive MIDI guitars?

@BlueRajasmyk

Wasn't Fender/Squire going to be producing a MIDI strat for $280?

I already have the midi guitar. It was $150 from gamestop (preordered it months ago).

I bought one of these from the Mad Catz online store for my Wii a few weeks ago. It works really well, but I just wish it included a MIDI cable since I didn't have one for my MIDI keyboard (my keyboard also uses USB so I never needed one). Had to run out and hunt down a MIDI cable, but it was a snap to setup and I've been having a blast with it!

Unless you have a regular keyboard which happens to have a midi output...which mine does...#$^@$%&@ just release it

Yup. My Roland kit is eagerly awaiting the shipment of this. I've been using a j5 Kickbox for like a year and a half now, and it's groovy stuff, but it would be nice to have proper Pro mode support. All the j5 does is let me map to the 4 existing triggers. Happy happy.
