The employer for this vacancy is Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust

The Royal Free Neonatal Unit is a busy, friendly Special Care Baby Unit, comprising of 16 cots; 2 stabilisation Intensive care/ transfer cots and 14 designated to Special Care. The unit has a family-focused philosophy in which staff and parents work together in partnership to provide the highest standards of care.

We have a longstanding renowned reputation for developmental care input and actively support this in our daily working practice.

Our current plans include working towards a nurse-led Neonatal Unit, and are currently introducing an IV cannulation/venepuncture programme along with other aspects of enhanced nursing care to support this development. It is envisaged that the post-holder would participate in this programme, which is supported by undertaking the enhanced neonatal Nurse programme at City University.

As part of the nurse led service we hope to establish a transitional care unit in the future.

This post offers the individual an opportunity to develop clinical and managerial skills, whilst taking a lead in changing how our service is delivered.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our existing professional team of nurses.

We have an excellent reputation for supporting breastfeeding mothers and have an active parentcraft training programme.

We support a baby massage programme and trained massage therapists also offer massage sessions to parents.
