We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to lead our communications team into this progressive future. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with Councillors, your challenge is to deliver an effective communications strategy that arches across the Council’s activities. Your role will include developing and implementing policies, as well as managing media and stakeholder relations, internal communications, publications, events and promotions. In addition, you will review and develop reputation and brand management, marketing campaigns and web content communications.

In all of this, you will look constantly at how we can improve every aspect of our communications to make them as effective as they possibly can be.

With a successful track record of managing communications activity at a similar level in either a public or private sector environment, you have the proven ability to deliver first-class media and public relations, corporate branding, internal marketing and web and e-communications. Excellent leadership, analytical and creative thinking skills are also important, along with the ability to build strong relationships within, across and external to the Council, with a wide range of partners.
