Maximising Ad Revenues
Long term customer, Emap, looks to ADTECH to help maximise online advertising inventory and further monetise its websites
Maximising Ad Revenues Emap is a business-to-business multiplatform media group, whose brands inform, inspire and connect within their core sectors. ADTECH has been Emap’s ad server of choice for a number of years supporting the company’s online strategy.
The focus directed at monetising a number of web sites through conventional ad placements i.e. leader boards, MPU’s and skyscrapers. Recently Emap’s strategy has changed placing most of its content behind a pay wall, resulting in significantly increased subscriptions however the size of its inventory has decreased. By cleverly analysing the remaining inventory, Emap aims to counteract the decrease by monitoring the number of acquisitions from live campaigns on the non-pay wall areas.  And in addition encourage advertisers to create in-house interactive rich media campaigns to engage users.
Roop Kalair, Head of Ad Operations at Emap comments: “In the current economic climate CPM’s are being squeezed and advertisers are looking for a reason to bring the rate card price down. ADTECH provides not only a competitive rate, but also excellent service, market knowledge and a solid product meaning we always get good value for money. There are also some great features and tools within the ADTECH ad server namely being able to push a campaign live within one minute which is extremely useful, the beacon tags - to track our acquisitions and the report wizard - a particularly brilliant tool which I use on a daily basis to monitor campaigns and forecast inventory."

He continued: "Perhaps unexpectedly the retargeting features have also come in very useful. We wanted to introduce a behavioural targeting tool that would enable us to monetise more of our run off site inventory by directing visitor to the more valuable sections such as News, which is sold out most of the time. By implementing the ADTECH retargeting tool, the net result has seen an increase in the CPM on the run off site inventory, at no extra cost as it is a feature within the software.

Our relationship with ADTECH has developed over time and I can trust them to deliver excellent knowledgeable service and support. As for future plans, we aim to reduce the overall cost for the advertisers and still providing a good ROI on dynamic ad formats.
